NFL continues making special teams more useless

Just approved the college style rule that a fair catch on a kickoff will go to the 25 yard line like a touch back

does the risk of a penalty or a turnover outweigh the gains of reaching beyond the 25 yard line any longer? You have to have special returners imo to go for glory.

The kickoffs are becoming useless, you mean.
I like how the XFL did it for the most part.
They're incentivized to kick it to the returner instead of out of the endzone.

And how are you supposed to stop anyone nowadays when a defense is sure to get some BS spot of the foul penalty.
Unless you're the Rams in the NFC championship against the Saints.

Might as well just give kicking team option to give it to other team at the 25 unless they wanna onside kick. Save everyone the boringness of going through the motions.

Will a perceived illegal block get you half the distance to the goal like backed up to the 12 1/2 yardline?
