So the kid should be rewarded for breaking the rules even after he was told that he could not wear the jersey the day before. You are an idiot and an example of what is wrong with our country today

to me this has nothing to do with NO/Indy, this is about someone doing somthing after they are told no and you think he should be rewarded for breaking the rules. Whats next, bank robbers given unlimited ATM withdrawels? people like you need to be fricking slapped

The principal told the students to wear their Saints jerseys - is that too difficult to comprehend - evidently this 1 student wanted to be different and not listen - so he should be disciplined. Their is always 1 student who wants to test the system. The student got what he deserved. The principle did the right thing. I applaud the principal and give him 3 WHO DATS!!!

he was told that his expression was less valid than that of his peers at the school. and decided that the government employee had no right to tell the home team they could wear their teams jersy and forbid him too.

this is a far cry from robbing a bank and you know it.

Then he should take that up with the Supreme Court who decided that School Administrators can decide when to censor students if they deem that it would be a disturbance to education..

If anyone has a case here its the girl that wore the pink Saints jersey to school and was sent home. But the ACLU isnt even mentioning her.

every case of disobedience does not find its way to the supreme court.

by the way, have they ever been wrong?

wrong in who's opinion?

Last I checked you cannot claim something is a violation of your rights when the SCOTUS has already ruled otherwise. You would get laughed out of court. It pretty clear that the right to censor a child in a public HS when the school administration feels that an act of speech can cause a disturbance is perfectly OK.

Want that to change then you have to follow the rules of the constitution to change it.

Personally I dont think that police checkpoints are constitutional but the SCOTUS ruled that its an allowed infringment on our rights.. So they happen doesnt make me happy about it but they are legal as a result.

This crap is all kind of pathetic with regard to the school and administration.

I am making a motion to have this ridiculous conversation on the GREATEST of Saints weekends moved to the political board. This is the SAINTS board - WHO DAT board, not the ACLU "let me find another issue" committee board. This board is for those who treasure the BLACK and GOLD, the WHO DAT nation, the Saints fans - young and old, near and far, and finally for OUR beloved New Orleans Saints team. Finally this thread should be moved to the political board and on that board - you can have your silly little ACLU conversations. But for me and the millions and millions of WHO DAT fans that are worldwide - I say:

in their own opinion, they have changed their own opinions in the past.

just making the point that the kid should not bow simply because the system said to bow.

you and i both know the admin. was just trying to show the kid who the boss was. they are not that convinced of the importance of the uniform or they would never relax the code, here they allowed fans of the home team to show support, and not the fans of the other team. that is wrong!!!

it's official.

this thread confirms that Saints-tards are worse then Rant-tards.

And people wonder why our state has an image of bumbling, intolerant, backwater hucksters.

I agree - the school adminstration shouldn't have done anything. The other kids should have just beat the crap out of him. That way the government wouldn't be involved at all.

The problem is discriminating on school property shouldn't be tolerated.

It should have been Super Bowl fan day. Instead of it being The WHO DAT day. Should have given the choices of wearing Saints gears or Colts gears. Not everyone in Louisiana are Saints fans.

If there is a dress code at work or at school then yes, send that guy home. The school didn't say you could wear Steelers, Indy, Atlanta, or any other NFL team's jersey. It was specific to Saints. If you can't comprehend that and wear an Indy jersey to school, then you should be sent home.

If the boss says you have to wear a green polo shirt to work and you wear a blue one then, guess what, you will be sent home to change or you can bitch and moan about your rights and get fired. Suck it up and follow the rules kid.

As far as I know, there were several school districts in the area that set Friday as "Black and Gold Day". ONE kid shits on the rule and now the other 99.99% will never have the same kind of opportunity again. So who took away who's freedoms. This thread reminds me why I detest most liberals.

There was also a girl who wore a pink jersey that got sent home... Of course this didn't make news... The rules were black and gold... I blame the parents for letting the kid think he is an exception to the rules... He will serve time in jail befor he is 23 if his parents keep backing him on situations like this
