I can't imagine a good reason why you wouldn't throw a short easy pass on 3rd down and give yourself a chance at a first down. If it isn't there, you still run more clock with letting Shough run around and take a sack

This is really bad for the Giants because JJ McCarthy is such a bad quarterback. He only looks good because he’s been given wide open throws with no pressure. They are going to make him a starter and their season is over.
