Hello Who Dats & Who Datettes, welcome to Week 2, Game 2 Saints Game Thread of the 2020 season!!!
It was a successful start to the 2020 season with a win over Tom Brady & the Buccaneers a week ago, but now we have to take the show on the road on primetime for the first time this season as the not-so-invited guests to the great grand opening party for Allegiant Stadium and officially welcome the Raiders to Las Vegas, while also welcoming Sin City to the pantheon of NFL home cities.
In order to move to 2-0, the Saints will have to do so without one of the team's top weapons with WR Michael Thomas out for at least tonight's game with a high ankle injury suffered at the end of last week's win over Tampa Bay. That Emmanuel Sanders pick up looks even better today than it did when he originally signed over the summer, and hopefully some of the youngsters like Tre'Quan Smith or Deonte Harris are able to pick up the slack until MT13 can return to the line-up.
Super Bowl-winning head coach Jon Gruden & the Raiders are looking for their own 2-0 start, coming off a tough 34-30 win over fellow NFC South team, the Carolina Panthers. However, the Raiders may be without their own top receiver as well as Henry Ruggs suffered his own injury , though they do have some veteran leadership to rely upon, including the ever-reliable former Dallas Cowboy tight end Jason Witten, who now wears the silver & black.
For whatever it's worth, this is the Saints' 1st chance at redemption against the Raiders since the Saints blew a 423 yd, 4 TD passing day by Drew Brees, including a 98 yd TD pass to Brandin Cooks - the longest play from scrimmage in franchise history, and 24-10 3rd quarter lead in a 35-34 loss to the Raiders in the Superdome in week 1 of the 2016 season. The then-Oakland Raiders scored a TD with 47 seconds remaining, also converting the go ahead two-point conversion, for the game's final score. But the last few seconds weren't without drama as rookie kicker Wil Lutz showed he had the leg from 61 to win it at the buzzer, but just pushed it wide left. That was just a sign of what was to come for a rough 2016 season for the Saints defense.
LET'S WELCOME VEGAS TO THE NFL BY PILLAGING THE RAIDERS NEW HOME AND STARTING OUT 2-0 AND TAKE A 1.5 GAME LEAD IN THE DIVISION AFTER JUST 2 WEEKS!!!

If Sean calls a good game, this shouldn’t be competitive for long.

Trent Brown being out is huge for the Saints. Gonna hurt their run game.

I think this will be a little close without CGM. I'm thinking:
Saints 41
Raiders -1

Looks like the backup might be out too. So the third stinger gonna be blocking Cam. Nice.

Is there some type of saints injury besides Thomas I haven’t heard about? Spread just dropped from 5.5 to 4 all at once. That’s a huge drop for an nfl line. Only other Explanation is someone in Vegas just dropped a sick amount of money on the raiders.

Doubtful as my local book here in Rhody just dropped to 4 as well. Covid news?

Local books move as Vegas moves most of the time. Maybe not as quickly and or as much but they do
For it to drop that much everywhere someone who is considered a sharp dropped a very large bet or public money is just pouring in at the sports books in Vegas.

#Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III, listed as questionable with a knee injury this week, is expected to play tonight vs. the #Saints, source said.
