1) Dalton Risner (30) - RG
He was above-average (top 25) in both pass blocking and run blocking. He won’t break the bank and will be an upgrade over Ruiz. Adding a solid RG next to Fuaga will help him improve as well.

2) Charlie Kolar (27) - TE
Big-body TE that would pair well with Juwan Johnson. Won’t break the bank and would fix our blocking TE need.

HM) Re-sign Fortner
He was lowkey our best OL last season and has good rapport with Shough. Most importantly, he was available (can’t say the same about Eric McCoy). Re-sign Fortner and trade McCoy to a center needy team for a mid round pick and more cap space relief.

That's interesting that they have him as the 11th best TE, and "only" $10.8M a year.

Schultz is currently the 11th highest paid TE, and he's at $12M
How many in the top 10 are also FAs or on rookie deals which will be used to raise where he should fall on the "xx highest paid" TE

The average of the 4 players they used as a comparison is $11.2M. 3 of the 4 have contracts of $12M+

I think they’re saying the projection would put him at 11 ahead of JJ

Sign him, draft another guard, add a high round rb and wr/te and the offense will be in business.

How good is he? I dont know much about him. We desperately need to fix the interior OL this off-season. I hope we come away with a FA OG and select another during the first 3 rounds of the draft.

The Saints are not winning the SB this year. No need to spend 20 million a year on any player. Build through the draft. 6-11 record and everybody is acting like Saints just won 2 playoff games …

He just finished 2nd in the league in yards for a te and he’s one of the biggest busts in years?

He hasn’t lived up to his draft status, but you are very wrong.

Guys having breakout years in their contract year is a bit concerning. I know he had a couple of injuries he dealt with but up into this year he was largely a disappointment

Alontae...as priority

No thanks. Great player but limited. Going to sign for too much $$$.

I have become a huge fan of drafting rookies at expensive positions in the first round. Delane or Lemon to replace Taylor or Olave make sense. I don't see them letting Olave go though

This I don't get! You've got cap space, might as well use it on players that make your team better

Romeo Doubs (not saying he's the best, but has a definite place as WR2, should be reasonable)
Any starting OL-Teller, Steelers guys, etc
*honorable mention-a starting RB (they're plentiful and inexpensive, allows us flexibility)

I agree with all of it except I believe we have to get rid of Ruiz. There's no reason to purposely have the right guard handicap us. A mid round pick would be fine. Almost anything would be better than him.

Use one of our fourth rounders

These posts are always funny to me. We are purposely handicapping our offense by playing Ruiz. Almost anything would be better than him. We could upgrade from him with a 4-round rookie.

While all of that may in fact be true, you also say “a mid round pick would be fine.” I’m assuming you mean to acquire in exchange for him. Like we’re secretly the only ones who know how bad he is because we watch all his games. No other team—especially ones who would trade for him—have access to his film, ratings, and wherever else teams use to evaluate players. With as bad as he sucks—combined with his contract—the only “mid-round pick” that would be part of a trade involving him is one of likely a couple that WE would have to include to get some team to take him.

Tevan Jenkins Guard
Issac Seumalo Guard

Love to get Pitts Pierce Mofe and or Etienne but cost will be high.
