1. Make a play for Russel Wilson. He's worth it and we'd have 6-8 more years of QB bliss. A few shots at a Super Bowl makes anything worth it.

2. If that fails, if Dak is available, go all in and giving him a big desirable contract and the lure of playing with Payton probably goes a long way. I think Dak is a very good QB that would be even better with Payton and our toys.

3. Start Taysom and find a cheaper short term bandaid option. If Jameis resigns for cheap for another year, that's fine but i don't want to waste a lot of cap on this backup in this option. (Alex Smith?)

4. Tua Tagovailoa- If Dolphins have buyers remorse and want to move on in draft or they trade for Deshaun, then maybe we can trade for Tua on his rookie deal and not cost too much of a fortune. We can still theoretically have him compete w Taysom while we mold him during year 1. We'd have to rely upon Payton being the QB genius we think he is to make this work.

5. If all the above fail, Would Carolina move on from Teddy? We probably could get teddy back here as a starter for pretty cheap. I'd look at him as a short term solution with very slight possible long term possibilities. Wouldn't commit any long term monies yet.

Deshaun Watson is not included bc there hasn't been much smoke with Saints about him but he would very much be of interest in a trade. You would have to if you're the Saints.

The most likely scenario is not on your list?

No, not my list. Maybe he comes in at No. 6 option but i don't want to pay him starter monies without seeing and proving more than he has.

I doubt we will have to.

Winston is a better option than 3, 4, and 5.

1) Trade for R. Wilson.
2) Roll with Winston on a 5 year incentive laden escalating deal. That way you pay little upfront during his prove it year/s with more pay on the backend if he proves himself.
3A) Move up to draft a QB.
3B) Trade a late round pick for Teddy Bridgewater.

I’m also not including Watson because I don’t think Houston trades him. I think it’s a Leveon Bell situation there where he’s out of football for a year.

This is insane dude.

You want him on a 1+1 with the 2nd year being a team option.

I'm an idiot but I like this.

1. Wilson- do anything you can to make it happen.

2. Brees comes back for one more

3. Winston and Hill with Hill having qb packages. 70% Winston 30% Hill

4. Dak- but I really don't like him much.

5. I don't think it matters at this point. Time to rebuild and get some better draft picks. A. Smith, Bridgewater, Tua, etc won't be successful.

I would be all in on Deshaun Watson. Not so much all in on a 33 year old Russel Wilson.

Why in the world would Winston do that?

If he has 1 or 2 good seasons, he's going to get a solid payday, so it would make zero sense for him to lock into a 5 year deal that doesn't allow him to sign a big extension if he plays well.

We should have went all in for Joe Burrow. He would have the Saints his perennial contenders. Not to mention his leader ship ability in the locker room would be unbelievable. But that ship has sailed so right now I would like to see Deshaun Watson a Russell Wilson because Jameis Winston or heel is not NFL caliber quarterbacks.
