MOST important is to continue to build a solid deep oline...that's when Brees is at his best and can pick ANY defense apart given enough time and protection.

1st priority pick: Brandon Scherff OL Iowa and if he is not available then La'el Collins would be my next target

2nd priority pick: Kevin White WR WVU, I recently looked at his highlight tape and combine results and this guy is a flatout STUD (could possibly end up being better than Cooper IMO). If he isn't available Davante Parker would be another good option.

3rd priority pick: Vic Beasley LB Clemson, if Scherff, Cooper, White, are all off the board I would take Beasley over Shane Ray and Shaq Thompson. Beasley is a freak athlete and his motor never stops, he will be an absolute baller in the NFL. If Beasley isn't available then Benardrick McKinney LB MSU is another great option that would possible be available in the later 1st or early 2nd round.

I was sold on La'el but reading some scouting reports, he appears to be just an average pass blocker and a mauler for the run game. This makes sense considering how often our QBs were pressured during LSU games. We need someone who is going to protect Drew & open up holes for the run game.

Absolutely, that is why I'd rather Scherff. While La'el is great I just don't think he will be as good as Scherff in the NFL on pass protection. Scherff is a monster that plays mean!

I'd take a first rounder over a second rounder as well.

He doesn't have the feet to be an elite tackle in pass protection. Collins has had his share of issues with speed edge rushers. That doesn't mean he can't excel at pass protection at the guard though. Tackles are out on islands which requires great feet. Guards work in a phone booth. The area they cover is smaller which plays to the strength of Collins being a mauler even in pass protection.

I was about to post the same thing. While I usually roll my eyes at the Draft-LSU-Fanboys, I am all on board with Collins. He may not have the feet to guard the edge, but he should pass protect just fine on the interior. That run blocking though! That's what we need. Get a mauler in there that can also pass protect, and you have a great interior line.

Now, if he would suck at pass pro from the interior as well, then maybe we should pass

I agree. Considering we have a serviceable LT in Armstead, I think drafting Collins for the open LG spot is a no-brainer.

I think Collins will be fine at guard. He gets beat by quickness at left tackle, but when he locks on to you...it's over and you might wind up hurt(I'd hate to be a LB that runs into him). His run blocking is very violent as well. Seems like a perfect guard.

Think it's safe to say that our first 3 picks will be pass rusher, pass catcher and o line, regardless of the order. At least in the first 4 we should see those addressed.

I don't think pass rusher is in the equation. I think it'll be OG, DT (if Shelton drops), ILB, WR or CB. My guess so far is in this order: OG, ILB, WR ...that ILB will be in the 2nd round, because I believe we will trade back for picks next year. Just a hunch

1. Kevin White won't be there at 13, so you can forget about him.

2. Brandon Scherff, imo, will be the pick unless he's scooped up beforehand.

3. Vic Beasley, I want no part of.

There are a lot of reasons our QBs were pressured.

La'el was probably the least of them, but i do think he moves inside at the next level, and can more than adequately pass block for a guard.

From what i hear Scherff will more than likely move inside too.

Beasley probably won't fall to us but to flat out say you want no part of him is absurd.

I'm afraid we're not keeping all of these picks. Loomis/Payton have a history of moving picks to move up in the draft and may not have the patience to let the draft come to them.

I'm praying they keep every damn pick and take this thing seriously.

Yes I get this but Collins is projecting more as a Guard in the NFL so he can clean up his pass protection since his window at G will have a smaller frame. Having an awesome run blocker next to Unger could be special
