I like it. Issue a misdemeanor charge on him for theft. Raid his hotel room.

Technically I think larceny would be more appropriate.

There is no need to play fantasy football.

When you watch a football game, you are watching fantasy football.

The players and coaches are real. The effort to play well is real. If the players mail it in, they are replaced.

The final score and the outcomes of games are sadly fixed.

With points of emphasis given to the officiating crews, the league controls how the rules of the game will be enforced for each player and each team.

quote:

He who controls the spice controls the universe.

The game officials will be arrested and prosecuted only if it can be shown that they personally bet on specific outcomes of the game for personal gain.

The refs, as paid employees of the NFL, are allowed to manage the game to create competitive and exciting outcomes.

The refs are doing their instructed jobs with calls and no calls.

The NFL has legal coverage in the enforcement or lack of enforcement of game rules and game outcomes by billing itself as "entertainment".

As entertainment, the contrived outcomes make for good fantasy entertainment.

If fantasy is not your cup of tea, watch something else.

Nah, should have been Saints vs Chiefs. The better teams that had better seasons that real football fans wanted to see play. Every single questionable call went NEs way at the end of the AFC championship. But thats football, right? It's all organic. Nothing at play but pure competition of course!

I am now convinced that some games are manipulated by the Refs and it is intentional.

I have watched just a few brief moments of the SB replays on NFL Network. For example, when the Pats needed to get Two to tie the game vs the Falcons, the Refs had the Offsides flag against the Falcons flying in the air during the play but before the outcome of the play. If the Pats had failed on the attempt, the Refs had a second attempt all lined up and gifted to the Pats.

You see shite like this repeatedly in favor of some teams and you begin to be suspicious -- or, in my case, convinced that the NFL's game is sometimes intentionally manipulated and is not a pure sporting competition.

Didn't mcvay try to call timeout before kicking the fF in overtime? If he misses that FG then that ref probably blows the whistle and says they got the timeout in.

Brah, this rabbit hole goes way deeper than anybody with a life has time for. Once you start re-watching games and watching closely for all of the subtle ways that the Refs manipulate the outcome of games, you won't have time for anything else in life -- AND it would lead you to the same conclusion that I have just reached for myself, which is this:

The NFL is an entertainment investment venture for 32 people, and this entity is disguised as a pure sporting competition. It's a fricking show. It is Kabuki Theater featuring fierce Shoguns engaging in mock combat on a stage, and the great joke is on any fool who thinks it's something else.
