I know this is hard for people to grasp but his attitude is a huge part of why he is a great player. We have heard comments in the past about how he is always 100% in practice. He’s an extremely competitive guy who doesn’t know what it’s like to lose. It’s clear how competitive he is and that’s also what we love about him as fans.

I think he truly wants to win and help the team. I don’t doubt his commitment but I’m sure he’s been emotional not being on the field. I trust Payton will address this properly and Thomas will get back on track. I would not even consider trading him at this point like some are suggesting. I’m confident this suspension will get through to him. Payton and the team leaders will get him back in line.

This team can’t win a super bowl without Thomas. I expect him to come out and ball out after the bye. Then all will be well again.

Being a shithead and being competitive have nothing to do with each other. There have been multiple instances of a shithead not being competitive and a competitive player not being a shithead.

Dont have an issue with an attitude. I agree with this for the most part. But at some point you need to be able to control your emotions.

Ive said many times i really dont care unless it starts to become a distraction. Here we are.

There is a fine line between uber competitive and going full Junior Gallett

A locker room is full of different personalities. He’s always laid it all out for the team. I struggle to be mad at a player that plays as hard as he does for their team.

Sure the offseason stuff with Brees should have been handled differently. But there is no denying that Thomas is willing to do anything for this team on the field.

There are more Michael Irvin's and Keyshawn Johnson's than Jerry Rice's. A gargantuan ego seems to be pretty common with being an elite WR.

i doubt the head coach gave a 2nd thought about him getting in a fight...

...but i bet they DID care a whole lot about the star WR throwing a wild punch at someone wearing a freaking helmet.

that was really REALLY dumb......and mike thomas was made aware of that.

they trying to get him back now.. and a breaking his hand on a helmet might put him out the rest of the year.

Or he could still be competitive and "put it all on the line" while not being a shithead. Multiple reports of multiple instances are coming out to suggest he is a shitty person and teammate and this isn't just about the two fights with Ceedy Duce.

The lengths which people go to justify shitty human beings has been astounding in 2020.

Or maybe people just understand that there are ups and downs with elite receivers. The key is to have a conversation with him and get it sorted out. Idiots like you would say cut or trade him. You have no idea what’s going on with him or any of these situations. You read one sentence in an article and now he’s a “shitty human”.

I love his attitude on the field. He is driven and cocky, and it makes him the best WR in the NFL. I get how his social media presence pisses a lot of people off, but it really doesn't bother me because he is still balling on the field. As long as he isn't getting dumb penalties that hurt the team, or running his mouth and not backing it up, then he can keep being himself.

What I do have a problem with is if the report is true he was mistreating the training staff and if he has continuously caused fighting with teammates. The training staff should not have to deal with getting berated because the taping wasn't right. There is a huge difference between players getting heated and getting in a scuffle, which happens with every team at every level, and him having an ongoing rep of being a shithead.

When did anyone say cut him or trade him in this thread? Stop projecting. And it only takes one sentence to point out all of the shitty interactions he's had with players, staff, trainers, and fans. It looks like you're blinded by your admiration of a privileged millionaire athlete. If any normal person or coworker did a quarter of what he did, they would be labeled a jackass and/or fired.

Not if they were literally the best in the world at their job. So if you want to make comparisons at least show up with some logic. When There is nobody on earth better than you it gives you a little wiggle room for some mistakes.

And this is how we've failed as a society. Free passes to privileged millionaire athletes who play a child's game for entertainment. This dude isn't curing cancer, he is a cancer. Remember, these guys are role models for kids and obviously (sadly) some adults. He probably saw it was okay to do from another shithead primadonna receiver. It would be different if you gave more rope for the star player to hang themselves when it came to turnovers but not when it comes to physically and verbally abusing coworkers, repeatedly. If anything, he should be held to the highest of standards since he is paid the most.

Of course it pivots to the "he's just being passionate". "He's a competitor" angle.

It's his physical skills that make him a top WR. His attitude is just baggage that you have to put up with.
