My question has always been , what did the Saints see in him to say “ He’s the one”? The guy hasn’t done anything

DA had him his rookie year and he had some mildly decent seasons. But they completely ignored all the shitty stuff and his past couple of seasons. The smart thing would have been a one year prove it deal not a massive dumb contract with no trade clause we gave him. Its also why he acts like an entitled bitch.

He’s always been a serviceable guy.

If trying to win now, it was the easiest option. It’s however been a trainwreck with poor coaching/scheme, bad line, and sky high expectation based on the compensation. If the expectation was QB16 -starter but not great, and a viable oc was in place I think both his assimilation to the team and fan base would’ve been much better
