re: Mike Freeman: it's believed a handful of teams are preparing offers for Graham.

If you gave me the choice of either JG or CJ, I'm picking Jordan.
I agree, he's an animal. I'd definitely be open to getting 2 1st rounders for Graham. I just hope we'd reinvest them back into the offense and use the money saved to get a receiver
I actually met him on the way back from Hawaii. Really nice guy, even after a red eye

I understand your point. It is illogical, and you would never resign young talent. Hell, you could even apply it to Brees.
It's not illogical at all. There are literally tons of examples of players who's play has fallen off after they've gotten a big contract. Most recently you can look at Derek Cox.
So you want to pay top dollar to a player who might have this nagging injury for the rest of his career? The injury which caused him to miss big portions of games?
I would feel more comfortable about it if he didn't have the PF. I think that's where we're not seeing eye to eye.

I just hope its someone who has a top 10 pick and has a terrible QB so next years 1st rounder is high too.

WTF? That's what I'm trying to say about the front office. What's all the fuss about letting Graham go then?

"I think the only players more valuable than Jimmy Graham are three or four quarterbacks," said one AFC general manager. "That's it."
This is why the AFC sucks.

Seattle? The Patriots? It's not certain, but the consensus seems to be the franchise(s) poised to make a run at Graham are among the bottom half of the draft. (A sleeper candidate I continue to hear is Baltimore.) And do not rule out teams that have salary cap issues, like the Patriots.
well... if that is the case they can keep their fricking picks
but I guess packaging a player in the deal could make it more interesting.
I wonder how many pages this thread is going to go for.

Because it has absolutely nothing to do with his character. If it comes down to signing graham or Jordan (which it shouldn't), I want Jordan depending on Graham's price tag. 2 top 10 picks would be different then 2 27s
Your concerns could be said about signing Jordan to a massive contract too.

But Jordan doesn't have the injury history making him less risky.

Lol. So now it's his injury history and not character concerns?
2 random injuries that he missed little time for is not an injury history. Brees has more of an injury history. Structural injuries would be more concerning.
Cameron Jordan has 2 more years under contract for us. It isn't a either/or situation

This has been about his injury the whole time?
I've mentioned the PF a few times.

Guys guys...Jimmy Graham didn't even make the NFL Network top 100 Players in the NFL last year. Why the hell would anyone want to pay him more than $8 mill per?

So we shouldn't resign him because of a plantar fascia injury?

We should weigh our options with weather we should match the offer.
1: How much
2: To who
That's with the following variables in mind:
1: New contract
2: Various Injuries
3: Future expiring contracts
4: Potential draft picks

And PF can be recurring. He might not ever heal 100% from it.

Saints are setting the market for JG. Good or bad it is what it is, not who it is.

Hopefully it's the Rams or a team willing to give a first and a high profile player to us.
Love Jimmy but if a team is going to give us 2 1sts or high profile guys in his place then you take it and run. Preferably the 1st rounders because rookies are cheap with potential at superstar status. The worst case scenario there is you get 2 busts but should get a guaranteed success with the money left over for a big FA. Well, worst case scenario would be both 1sts are busts and your big FA is a bust. I'll take that chance though.

It doesn't impact the foot's functionality, it is all about pain management. Once he tears it or lets it heal, the past injury should no impact on it.
It is a 4-6 week recovery time with surgery. He should be back to 100% in that time frame. he's probably already at 100%

Good breakdown from a Dr.
Since he is now aware of his it, he can actually prevent it from happening again. It is only reoccurring when it heals shorter than before (unlikely to happen to Graham). I doubt he is going to forget to stretch it during his rehab. So he can let it heel, allow it to heal in a longer position, and have less of a chance of occurring than he did before the original injury
