The Saints aren't going to trade Cooks because Mike Thomas and Willie Snead have Twitter beef with him. There's a distinct possibility that the Saints don't get what they want for him and they will have to retain him on the roster. And that's not a bad thing. Brandin Cooks is pretty damn good.

We need a deep threat for sure, but if you were to ask me to pick 2 of the 3 to retain, I'd go with Snead and Thomas. Build from there.

Paying Brandin Cooks is not a bad deal. He's a known commodity. However, the Saints probably can afford to trade him and stockpile picks to build their lines. They desperately need offensive line help and a pass rusher.
