I like how everyone always assumes that these athletes are taking time off for some deeply personal issue that is well beyond their control and something that we should keep them in our thoughts and prayers for. I like how these perpetual shitty decision makers have somehow convinced the morons of the fan base that they somehow earned that presumption.
When 99% of the fricking time it's because they're in rehab or otherwise facing the consequences of their entirely predictable shitty behavior and retarded life decisions that most adults in the world would avoid entirely.
But yeah let's read the agents press release and swallow those reasons whole. We will never, ever know what the real reason is, no matter what information is released, but I'm most certain that the overwhelming majority of the time it's because they did something stupid.

We see this all the time with vets. A conveniently timed early camp ding or “personal reasons”. It’s a little ploy by coaches to discreetly give latitude to their veterans, and it’s happened in Nola frequently with the late summer heat. That’s probably all this is. If he were dealing with anything of significance, we’d know about it. Relax
I’m not saying he doesn’t have a little something going on, but it’s almost 100% something a young player would NOT be granted time off for.

You think TM is literally missing the BEGINNING of his first training camp with a new team for just a sneaky break….before the season has started?
