Hes been here for 3 years and has a total of 5 sacks and 33 tackles. Come on man.

Last year Junior and Tez in the snaps they were given were two of the best pass rushers in the league. Junior gets full time snaps, look what happens. And again this year, in very limited snaps, Tez was getting to the qb. Shouldn't it be on the coaches to find time for a guy like that? People were saying the same crap about Junior before the season that you are saying about Tez now.

You just proved your stupidity with this statement.

How stupid of me to accuse Payton and these coaches of sticking with old guys who suck over playing younger guys with potential. Not like this is the first year that hasn't happened since Payton has been here, and it only happened because all the old guys got hurt.

Color me surprised.

I was really hoping Wilson would get healthy.
I assumed that was the problem.
He's played 42 snaps this season, in which he racked up 1 sack, 1 QB hit, 1 QB hurry, and 2 tackles.

Not to hijak, but if Butler had a full tear, then why not IR him for the year right from jump? The fact that they didn't suggests it's not as critical as it could have been (and, since I'm thinking about it, eff that POS Ingram for causing his injury).

As for Tez, perhaps the Saints elevated Griffin to keep him safe from the multiple teams w/ QB injuries

No possible way this happens, but it would be the shite.

I trust SP, there has to be a lot more going on behind the scenes that hasn't gotten out public yet.

I must be missing something because those qb hit and hurry numbers don't add up with what I've seen with my own eyes.

Someone needs to explain why so many people feel this way. The guy is an offensive genius, but the defense has been horrible with very little talent since he's been with this team. At least that was the complaint everyone had until things finally clicked this year. Even the year they won the Super Bowl, that defense was more about turnovers than anything else.

I'm saying I've seen the guy hurry and hit the qb more than once.

Umm no they were not. I thought that both of them would do awesome in a 3-4 but Tez obviously couldn't cut it.

Ok everybody look we should fire Rob Ryan and hire this jerk off landrywasbeast30 as DC. He obviously knows more than GW, Spags & RR. Sign this fricker up now!!!

They are basically the same player. Wasn't it going to be Butler and Will Smith as starters? How exactly is that "earning it"? Bottom line is both guys deserved full time snaps, one guy got them, and look what happened. Tez would be doing the same as Junior in the same amount of snaps.

And you called me stupid. The Saints barely run any 3-4 first of all. Secondly, the few snaps Tez got, and that he looked good in, were in a 3-4. But yeah, he couldn't cut it.

God forbid anyone think Tez is actually a good player that they shouldn't have cut. Coaches never make mistakes. They are perfect. Just so you know, you seem to be in the minority about Tez if the reaction from people in this thread is any indication of how most Saints fans feel, douche.

In the past, they looked similar.
The sample size was too small this season to make comparisons.

How many good defenses has Payton had since being with the Saints? You are completely missing the point. Why should I trust the decisions about a defensive player coming from an organization that has had horrible defenses in Payton's time here.

he's gonna tell you ninkovich.

on a note to the topic:
every analyst said we had "no talent" and "transition" will be difficult. I'm sorry, but we had talent, we just didn't use them properly. I wanted wilson to succeed as much as anyone, but since that san fran game he's just not able to get on the field for extended periods of time. Who knows why?

he gets to the QB, but he can't cover. He also gets eaten up on run plays. I still have this etched in my mind.

LINK

edit: this front office/coaching staff is letting the younger players play. This isn't like spags who wanted to fit round pieces into square holes. I trust this move that they know what they're doing a million times more than last year's shite fest.
