In the past, they looked similar.
The sample size was too small this season to make comparisons.
The point is that they looked like the same player, and the guy who was given more snaps has done well. And the guy who wasn't given more snaps has still looked good in limited snaps. So with the information we have, can't we conclude that there is a good chance Tez would produce the same as Junior in the same amount of snaps?

You really don't know that.
You are right. I'm just going off the information I have to work with. I'm just confused as to why I'm supposed to believe Tez "couldn't cut it" just because Ryan and Payton say so. Like we've never seen guys get cut and succeed elsewhere. I think Tez will be picked up by a team like the Steelers, Jets, or 49er's.

Last week I was asking if others noticed how MW had virtually disappeared. He's had the opportunities and hasn't been able to earn the reps (whether some think he should have or not). Healthy scratches are often the precursor to release.
I've read criticism of MW that he had a low football IQ. Great athlete, hohum football player. The lower the level of competition the more you win with plain physical tools. Each step up the ladder it becomes increasingly about heart & head.
It does make me more excited about Keyunta Dawson. He got a lot of reps for being here one game. They had to like what they saw a lot to keep him over MW. Also reinforces Payton's mantra that he doesn't care when you were drafted (or not) or where you came from. He who plays and practices best gets the reps.

And you called me stupid. The Saints barely run any 3-4 first of all.
Hey dumbass when we hired Rob Ryan it was to change to a 3-4. And all of us thought that would be our base set. Now we know that's not the case and we rarely line up in 3-4.
quote:
Secondly, the few snaps Tez got, and that he looked good in, were in a 3-4. But yeah, he couldn't cut it.
You just made my point right there.
quote:
Bottom line is both guys deserved full time snaps, one guy got them, and look what happened. Tez would be doing the same as Junior in the same amount of snaps.
Once again you are trying to say you know more than Rob Ryan. Im done talking to your stupid arse, its obvious that you are not worth the time or effort and don't have the brain to realize what a retard you are.

We been waiting for Wilson to break out for years now. He was a bust.

The guy who can't get on the field consistently. Or do you think they were just picking on Wilson?

All this makes to much sense for this moron Blues. Its even worth trying to talk to him. Believe me.
Anyway what up Blues haven't talked to you in awile, and you still owe me a drink!

Apparently I'm the only person on the planet who saw the guy pressuring the qb and forcing quick passes in the limited snaps he got. Of course he couldn't do anything if he wasn't on the field. The only thing we have to judge him on is the snaps he did get. It's not his fault that playing well didn't earn him more reps. They couldn't beat out Smith last year even though both Junior and Tez were better. That should tell you all something.
The guy has always performed well when given snaps, but now he has a bad rep because Ryan and Payton decided they didn't like him. I say again, the stuff being said about Tez was said about Junior. Low football IQ, couldn't hold up against the run, can't cover.

Hey idiot, a majority of the people in this thread are surprised at this move. Because you think the guy "couldn't cut it" you think that makes you any more right than anyone else? I can make up my own opinion that doesn't involve just eating whatever the coaches feed me like you. You seem like the kind of person who would quote the 2 people who agree with you like that proves something.

So they were picking on him

I remember everyone sucking them both off all summer and saying they'd combine for 20 sacks.

They are basically the same player.
No. Galette has always been a natural pass rusher. It was the rest of his game he had to work on.
Tez played mlb in college, started out as a olb, and then switched to DE, and then back to olb. I've seen him effective as a blitzer, but he didn't really have a lot of pass rush moves outside of the speed rush. He didn't have a very powerful lower body.
I actually think he could be good in a cover 2 defense.

I'm the guy who kept saying the defense would be fine during the offseason while everyone else was complaining about not having a pass rush.

Maybe you aren't as smart as you think
Posted on 10/22/13 at 7:38 pm to saintsfan22
We haven't been playing a lot of 3-4, and I think that's what has hurt him the most. We've been playing a lot of 4 man fronts, and he's not really a stick your hand in the ground type.

I always enjoy when people try to call me out then make themselves look like idiots. I was one of the very few people who was saying this. I actually left the board because people were jumping down my throat for believing what I quoted. But yeah, everyone was sucking them both off.

And you were calling the mid season cut the whole way.

C'mon down. We'll be moving out of the country when our house sells.
For judging the move just put the GM hat on the shelf and wait for the results. MW becomes Ninkovich II then crowing can be had. He oughta get a sniff elsewhere. Sometimes it's just chemistry. Al Woods and Johnny Patrick were booted and still in the league.

This is exactly it. He came in when they went 3-4 set. Haralson barely plays either because of this.

What the frick are you talking about? I'm not calling those people out dumbass I'm saying people have always had high expectations for Tez and Junior. People saying we weren't gonna have a pass rush were crapping on Will Smith, not those two.
