He said if they get hurt in college they’ll get hurt in the pros. He will now have two surgically repaired ankles and a rebuilt hip. He will be a big risk for any team that takes him.
That is a completely anecdotal take, considering outside of quarterbacks all players in the NFL get hurt. Teams don't avoid a guy because "they could get hurt" teams avoid guys are either not back to %100 or there is a medically established reason they may re-injure a body part.

oh idk, Tua has just been a near perfect QB for going on 3 years now
I bet you think Greg Oden was the perfect draft pick too
Listen, Tua is fantastic. When healthy. The best ability is availability and the dude has had 3 surgeries in 2 years. He’s perpetually injured.

mean I believe Bama has had 4 different OCs during Tua’s tenure and he has put up numbers playing under 3 of em surely you’re not implying he cannot learn a system or read a defense. By your logic, Burrows performance under difference systems should be a red flag
Have you watched Bama? Yes 4 OCs all of them with pretty simple offenses.
I'm not saying he definitely couldn't but to say he definitely could is quite idiotic.
We saw how much Paytons offense had to change to accommodate Teddy.
Burrow already has a jumpstart into Paytons offense. He is running something extremely similar.
Also these qbs have seemed to fizzle out way more than live up to expectations once in the NFL so we will have to wait and see. Both may become average or below average.

Saints won’t have to move at all for Tua.

RTWF Bama.
That said, I like Tua as a person. He isn't worth a 1st to me if he can't stay healthy.
He's Andrew Luck before the NFL. I just don't see him staying healthy.

When can we begin the Jalen Hurts banter?

Rat poison!
What about Fromm?

I think he could end up a lot like Jaylen Smith with the injuries. But that would fit fine with us since ain’t nobody pushing Brees out the door.

Evaluating a player's injuries involve two questions. First, when healed will the player be back at pre-injury performance. Second, what are the chances of re-injuring that body part. No team is gonna pass on a guy because he might hurt a previously uninjured body part.

I think this is more likely at this point. Early in the season I said the Saints would trade up into the teens to get their guy if he was there thinking it would be Burrow with Tua going top 2. That appears to be reversed now with the way the season’s gone and the injury to Tua.
The homer in me wants Burrow, but IF Tua can come back healthy I think both will be good pros so I’d be happy if we land either one.
I do question this though. People have said this and I just don’t see it. What part of Joe’s game looks like a weakness to you or like it won’t translate? There’s some truly terrible QBs in the NFL right now that both these guys are better than. Burrow is showing out this year because he’s in a system that allows it...he was good last year too but the system wasn’t catered to him as much as it should of been or as Bama’s has been since Tua arrived.

I just haven’t been that impressed with Tua. Reminds me how Mike Evans was amazing and made JFF look great. I could be wrong (and I’m probably wrong) but I just don’t see him being a star nfl player.
I like Fromm. I just think he’s got “it”, whatever “it” is.

Tua can't keep himself healthy.
I love his game and think he's a terrific guy but...
he's frail. He can't protect himself and gets hurt too much.
He won't last in the NFL... I don't think.

modern medicine or not.. the hip is not a highly vascular area.
you dont want injuries there
imo, a good result is tua not having a permanent limp going forward.
being able to play again is gravy.

Tua does not have to thread the needle very often. His receivers get wide open often.
Yeah, not sure how Joe does it with his trash wr’s.

He has an above average O-line blocking for him
Hasn’t Bama’s offensive line been down this year?
Tua was a top recruit, has succeeded under multiple OC’s, and came in the national championship game as a freshman when his team was struggling, where he expertly looked off the safety then made a beautiful td pass to literally win them a championship. Even considering all of this, apparently he is too dumb to play for a genius like Brady.
Also, one good year playing for an offensive genius, is better than more than one good year playing for a rotating crew of OC’s. Yep, these all seem like reasonable takes.

Both are throwers of the football
Both great guys by all accounts
Should I keep going??? Please say no.

His beautiful pass td was literally to a wide open guy.
I mean Tua is awesome, but any take that says he’s for sure better than burrow is equally as absurd.

Yes, but why was he so open? I was responding to people saying basically Tua is too dumb to play for Brady. This play, as a freshman, to literally win a championship, proves otherwise.

He's thrown a lot of beautiful touchdowns that weren't to literally wide open guys. Anyone doubting his accuracy or timing needs their head examined. It's still not easy to drop the ball into a bucket at 40 yards. You can criticize his brittleness and it's a fair criticism. A lot of the hits he's taken over his career at alabama have come from the guy refusing to give up on a play. He'd rather scramble and make something happen than throw it away and play for another down. I think that can be coached out of him at the next level, but at Alabama he's made incredible plays by going off script so he's developed a superman complex. The injuries concerns are real. The arm talent, timing and accuracy are unquestionable and anyone saying otherwise needs their head examined.
