And realize that Payton and the Saints org rejected his advances to come to the Saints because they had more faith in Drew Brees to win a SB.
THEN realize that this same Payton thought that T. Hill is an excellent NFL QB - playoff worthy!
Not to mention Payton's assessment of Winston, which most think was dreadfully wrong.
Whew. It's going to be a long road back to the Superbowl for the Saints.

In all seriousness Brady is playing great, but there is no reason to blame Payton for not getting him. You can't just force Brees to retire early. If that idiot TE doesn't fumble the ball then Brees beats Brady in the playoffs.

I don’t know how many times this needs to be said but the Saints weren’t going to force out Brees for Brady. Whether you agree with that or not, the Saints weren’t and couldn’t force Brees into retirement.

As had already been said, Tom was going to Florida. His choice was between Arians in Tampa or Payton in Miami. I don't think there was a scenario where Brady came to new Orleans except as pure speculation as every report seemed to mention Payton specifically
