Spin it like you want, Saints were spurned like a thin waisted whore, just like the Falcons.
This would be more valid if we lost something from it.
Atlanta just alienated their HOF ish QB for nothing and will still have to trade him.
What did we lose in this exactly? Winston will most likely be re-signed.
If anything it caused us to make cap clearing moves earlier than we would have.

Watson has caused more harm to the Falcons than we ever could ... he is an all time great at that

Thank goodness the Falcons exist. They're the one NFL franchise that the Saints have scoreboard over.

Someone told me this analogy over the weekend and it is spot on, so I figured I would share:
To try to put this into perspective, imagine in the offseason of 2016, following another 7-9 season, Colin Kaepernick wanted to come to New Orleans. We still have Drew Brees under contract, but he has not been winning us games like we used to. Instead of retooling around Brees, we roll out the red carpet and act a fool to get Kaepernick to come here, all why trying to dump Brees on anyone that we can. Even though we were his first choice and everything seems to be leading up to us signing him, ultimately, Kapernick signs with the Jets. All we did was piss off half our fanbase that hated him, all while taking a huge shite on the greatest player in franchise history.

Now only getting a third round pick for your greatest all time franchise qb, when the entire fan base really believed they were getting a first and a third at minimum, or two seconds. Some really believed they might get two firsts lmao….
Carson Wentz pulled in way more in draft compensation lol.
Time to have yet another laugh at this crap franchise…..

And they have signed Marcus Mariota

Anytime the Saints depress me, the Falcons are always there to lift me back up.

Terry Fontenot is quickly becoming my favorite GM in the league
Dude nets the Saints 2 3rd rounders
Trades away Julio to give the keys to Calvin Ridley
Trades Matty Ice after failing to get Watson and signs Marcus Marriota
I don't know what the Saints are paying him to tank the Falcons but he needs a raise
