Would that change anyone's opinion in here if we were trading up for him instead of Williams?

Not me.

I want playmakers. Getting to 5 means giving up 31. I think there is more value in picking at 13 and 31 than any one player in this draft.

There are people who would take Cooper over Williams if they were the Raiders?!?!?! Lol you can't make this shite up.

If the Raiders take Cooper over Williams they'll be back to the Raiders of the late Al Davis rhelm. This is arguably a deeper WR draft than last year and you pass on the best player in the draft to take Cooper? Lol.

Williams and Mack would be what Watt/Clowney was supposed to. They could go WR-WR their next 2 picks and be more than fine.

I think Redskins would take Fowler. They are looking for a complimentary EDGE to Kerrigan. Leaving them in the mix for Fowler/Beasley or trade down.

I said this in a prior thread where he came up and I will say it again.... There is a reason the "consensus" #1 player in the draft is dropping. Good friend of mine worked for one of the organizations near the top of the draft and still has connections. The consensus with that particular team's doctors is that Williams is one bad play away from being done with football for good.

The doctors think he will need a spinal fusion in a few years. It's either known among most teams and the media is only now starting to get wind of it, or each team is slowing figuring it out for themselves.

We may be able to 5 by trading 13 and 44. If so, we could try and deal #31 for a 2nd and a 4th, leaving us with a 1st, 2nd, 2 3rds, 4th, 2 5ths, 6th, and a 7th. Williams may not be a sure thing, but he is as close as it comes in this draft.

Cooper is a fantastic player, and the Raiders look to finally have a QB worth a shite.

He will most likely go below Winston and Mariota in the 3-5 range. I don't consider being selected in the first few picks "dropping".

If teams are so terrified of a career ending injury he would be freefalling and he really isn't. Draft day may be a different story, but there doesn't seem to be any panic regarding Williams yet.

DaQuan Bowers.

Was considered a #1 overall pick, but fell to the 2nd round due to medical concerns.

Good call on that one. Spinal stenosis along with poor pro day numbers caused Jarvis Jones to drop in 2013 after many believed he was a top 10 pick & the best pass rusher in that draft.

Cooper is a good player, he's not this guy who's gonna tear up the league from day one like people expect. This is arguably the deepest draft in years, and we saw last year rookies can have day one impacts at WR.

Williams is by far the consensus top talent in the draft. After him the dropoff is huge.

You do understand value right? This is a no-brainer.

Lol, I started to respond and got side tracked. You edited the post before I could respond. "yet" is the key word. Now, every team's medical staff has a different assessment of players, and some are more willing to take on injury risk than others if he does live up to his potential. I didn't just pull this out of thin air though. He very well may go 2-3, and I know it's laughable to mention someone like McShay, but if you notice he dropped him to 7 a few days ago...

This is largely considered the week of smoke. Rumors fly all around, and teams "leak" all kinds of "desires" to the media to do nothing other than stir shite up and try to get in the heads of other teams and create possible trade offers based on overreactions.

If one or only a select few teams know something, there's no way in hell that they leak the info to the media on the off chance others don't. But, what you always see the day before the draft or day of is some relatively "unknown" prospect shoot up out of no where, or a highly mocked player inexplicably fall. Take it with a grain of salt.

I'm just sharing a reason why he all of a sudden could fall to 5 (or further), or how could teams in front be so stupid as to let this happen..

Good catch. He has also been very high on Randy Gregory & pimping him to the Saints at #13 then today all of sudden he says that there is no way the Saints take Gregory with that pick. It's like he went from completely ignoring Payton's comments this offseason about finding high character players to it smacking him dead in the face today. That entire NFL Nation mock draft had a more serious tone to it than just the normal pre draft discussions of pimping certain players.

No, no, no, you're not a "true" fan then

I made a thread the day those morons played 1st stringers to the end while TB was playing 3rds and laying on the ground the entire second half yelling about how dumb it was to win that game.

There were way more people who thought it was better to win that game than to lose it. Because professionals. The Saints would be picking #9 right now and TB would have the #2 pick.

What if Winston is a stud? You never know. The Saints letting SJB and McCown/Griffin, etc play would have been a more valuable use of time than beating the shittiest team in the NFL by a point or two. If they win, awesome. If they lose...

I don't think the "professionals" argument is so much the point as it is you have certain players and coaches who know their arse is on the line, and even if getting cut or fired is inevitable, good film to show for it helps you land another job.

Obviously as fans we all want the best draft pick at that point, but unfortunately in the moment these guys aren't thinking about the draft in May. They're thinking about whether or not they will even be on a roster in the coming weeks.

I also doubt players look that far ahead, but you would be naive to think if fringe and young players alike want a high draft pick. Every single person who is drafted is another threat to you. That's part of the reason why rookies get treated like absolute shite in the league.

assuming TB would not have made an even bigger effort to throw the game. They knew they needed to lose to secure #1. they werent winning that game.

If Tennessee doesn't select him, I'd imagine Jacksonville would.
