LB now a position of strength?

Saints signed a few new faces to fill the LB core, so I assume it is a position of strength right?

I assume that your assumption maybe correct

Let's wait for the suspensions to come out before we consider it a strength. Besides we lost some depth with Dunbar leaving. Still should be a solid unit if spags does a good job with them

Well none of new players are getting suspended and Vilma being suspended upgrades it as well

I think we just got respectable. We have to remember how bad it's been besides Vilma for years, and then he digressed. Hawthorne and Lofton will start, but we still don't know if Wilson will be ready to start at SAM. If he isn't, that means Shanle or Herring would be our starting SAM.
We need to shore up our depth as well.
ETA: I'm really happy that we're finally addressing the position, but I don't want to over react.

Chamberlain, Hawthorne, and Lofton as new LB I'll take it

We went from a D on in the field to about a B on paper.
significant jump.
We'll have to see how they perform on the field in this system before we'll know for sure.

I just have a hard time getting excited about defensive free agents until I see them perform.

Without a game played I would say its improved but hard to say a area of strength.
But its sure nice to see this line-up after so long in the LB'er waste land

Well Bunkley, Hawthorne and Lofton are all proven guys. They're not superstars, but they're fundimentally sound players.

Yea I know a Seahawks fan and he was really downplaying Hawthorne and at the same time calling us an low morals organization

Well, some people on here were saying Nicks was gonna sluff off now that he's got paid. Fans understandably hate losing good players, and will downplay their talents to make it hurt less.
Losing Nicks hurt though. He's a great player; the best at his position. I wasn't thrilled with the prospect of Tennant or some rookie trying to fill that void. Signing Grubbs was such a relief.

First, I wanna say, how's it going bud? Long time no speak
I haven't been killing the gym as much, I hurt my knees.
Now, to answer the OP.. It's too early to tell if it's a position of strength, but it's most definitely upgraded on paper.

here's hoping! Remember when it seemed the backend of the defense would be weak forever? Now we have a steady input of talent there. Maybe now for the LBs.

Chamberlain, Lofton, Hawthorne, Wilson, Hunter, Herring, Casillas, Bussey, and Vilma with Shanle leading the way? Of course the answer is yes.
