describe what the playcall was.

do you even know?

2/14 on 3rd and 2 this year. That's a playcalling issue especially with an all pro guard.

maybe this true, maybe its not. Do you have a link?

the Saints are 6th in the league on 3rd down conversions.

they were 50% again tonight(7-14), which is way above league average .

This loss, like last week, is on the offense. And specifically on Drew and Little Petey.

They share the blame and can both frick themselves.

My issues aren't with 3rd and 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. It's with 3rd & short, and we've been awful

Again, I'm almost certain that you're right. And the way Brees handled that situation was WAY worse than any of his INTs. I could have gone out there tonight and thrown those for him, but I also would have been aware enough to hurry the offense up and either run a play or spike the ball. After that play with ~35 seconds left, they showed an extended replay, and the entire time I was thinking "either NFLN is fricking up horribly by not showing what the offense is doing right now, or the offense is going full retard." Wish it had been the former, tonight may have had a very different result.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I was yelling "show the fricking play" at my television.

it was 3 receivers to the left colston to the right shotgun with sproles in the backfield. 3 receivers run straight to the endzone and the slot (I think graham) took off on a short out.

so you are talking out of your arse?

if they are 6th in the league in 3rd down conversions, i have a hard time believing they are doing that bad on 3rd and short. I honestly havent noticed a problem.

would just be nice to see it in writing.

You still haven't told us how the end of the first half was Carmichael's fault. Again, the 3rd and 2 empty backfield (while PT was kicking arse) was enough to get me pissed at him, but you're blaming him for some shite that he doesn't deserve blame for. And I have no attachment to him, and I'd say that there's a 90% chance that he's coaching elsewhere next season (in either a move up or a lateral move), so I'd be ecstatic if he were one of the main problems tonight. While he made some big mistakes, he maybe deserves 5% of the blame.

So you made up the stat, then? And I guess you made it such a precise number that you assumed people would think it's true and no one would call you on it.

Because he called the play where all the receivers were covered and explicitly told Brees to take the yards no matter how short.

WWL twitter was saying Drew took the blame for not getting the play off in time. Said he didn't realize how much time was left.

Inexcusable, to borrow Lester's words

Because its a stupid fricking playcall, 4 receivers. 3 just run straight into the endzone (directly into coverage) and the TE just sits out on the flats covered. It would've been a poor call with 15:00 left let alone 12 seconds.

He's got to feel terrible. One of the most sure-handed receivers in the league.

Don't know if its been mentioned or not but Brees said after the game that he didn't know how much time was on the clock during that sequence.

Doesn't make it feel it any better but it explains WTF Brees was doing. How he isnt aware of the clock in that situation is another question. Sproles also didnt seem to be aware of the situation either, because after he was tackled he didn't seem to be in an hurry to line back up. He left the ball on the ground and didnt hurry to line up until the oline ran up to try to spike it.

They don't know what the coverage is going to be beforehand dumabss. Colston scored his TD last week on the route you're describing.

Good to know. And that was way worse than any of his INTs. We get 3 or 7 there, and we have a shot to overcome his terrible game.

if that 2/14 stat is true(im in the process of checking) then its just a cherry picked number
