You can argue all you want, but clock management failures fall squarely on the man calling the plays. No business running a play there that either isn't a TD or incomplete. So I don't give a shite that the offense couldn't get lined up and spike the ball in 7 seconds.

Secondly, 13 points. When the offense scores 13 points does the OC get none of the blame? Seriously.

Despite it all we're driving down the field to tie the game. 3rd and 1...what anyone else does, is line up and run it or QB sneak it and get the one yard. What does Pete Carmichael do? He runs a delayed handoff with the falcons absolutely selling out for the run.

I don't really even need to type anything. 13 points sucks...period.

Sucks, and the refs won't always catch that kind of thing, but it happens.

seems like a simple rub would've done the job and prob not drew a flag.

the way he just attacked the defender was kind of weird to me. Weatherspoon was in pursuit, but not close to the play at that point. Graham could have stopped & broken down and held his ground if his sole intention was to block him on that play.

are you talking about the last play of the 1st half?

do you think Carmicahel really called a dump down pass to Sproles?

well, the QB threw 5 INTS, the OL Couldnt block at times, and our WR's dropped crucial balls.

Only because Carmichael was calling the interception plays in the playbook.

The fact that it has to be explained to you means there's no point in explaining it

i mean the Saints have the 5th best scoring offense in the league. The horror!

the team has had bad offensive games under Payton, and he is still the best play caller in the league when the day ended.

so what

i think Fox Mulder is 12 beers in or so, honestly.

I was hoping Payton took those off his playsheet before Carmichael got to it.

of course not, but drew had to throw it. A QB rollout where you either hit your man in the endzone or throw it away and kick for 3 is an infinitely better call when under 15 seconds and you have no timeouts. The playcall was awful and while drew obviously shouldn't have thrown that, it never should've been called

2/14 on 3rd and 2 this year. That's a playcalling issue especially with an all pro guard.

Yeah we do well against Philly and Oakland and a rare case against ATL the first go round.

Denver shut us down. ATL did. WSH did (of course we got our garbage time points. CAR did (garbage time points again) the offense is inconsistent and I would hope any Oac could manage 5th in scoring offense with a unit that is a perennial #1.

Dude, I highly dout Pete just lolligagged around instead of calling a play. The question becomes whether the OC, HC, or QB is in charge of the pace of the offense, and who is at fault for the ~25 seconds between the 2nd to last play of the half, and the last play of the half (which was about 5 yards away from the original LOS, IIRC). I'm not 100% sure of who it's on, but I'd bet butthole virginity to $100 that it's on Brees.

Yeah despite how bad Brees played he should have extended the record, Jimmy cost him the Sproles TD and Moore dropped that TD

At that point with no timeouts the QB is in charge, especially a vet qb like Brees.
