I agree

But since we are in a rebuild

And we are

I would draft as many OL and DL as possible over the next few years

And hope we have somebody to develope them

And take an educated guess at a QB

I don't know if he'll be there at pick 9 but that defensive tackle from Michigan looks like that might be the way to go.

I'm tired of having sub-level players like Nathan Shepard on the d-line.

Saunders actually flashed more than I thought he would this year. Guy made some plays. I know that's kind of a boring pic and it's like getting an offensive line and no one really gets excited about it but we need help bad stopping to run all the sudden.

The other part to stop in the run is speed at linebacker.

Demario still playing really well for his age but we could use more speed at that's position.

Him and McMillian are probably the only two if there, I wouldn’t trade down then.

Otherwise, I’d be trying to load up on multiple extra picks. Try and get some next year when the draft should be loaded at the position.

The focus of the saints need to be on 2027. This 2025 draft strategy should be to pick up a couple foundation players along the OL and defense and then bank draft picks for 2026 and 2027 drafts.

Filling a roster with low round picks is not going to win a playoff game in 2025, but being ble to add draft picks in 2026 and 2027 that are very cap friendly could catapult the team into a playoff run in 2027 and beyond. They may get a luck streak and be in a playoff talk in 2026 but that is not what I would be looking towards.

McMillian the player I like a lot. The Saints could use a big body WR that has good ball skills and can go up and get contested catches.

Olave and Shaheed can get open fine but don't exactly have the best ball skills in traffic.

McMillian has great body control midair.

with both of our lines (especially defense) up the middle being suspect, I'd like a pick there instead, but you wouldn't see me complaining about McMillian if he was in fact the pick.

Yeah, Will Smith, Michael Thomas, Marcus Lattimore, Malcolm Jenkins, Pete Werner, Vonn Bell and even Chris Olave were all terrible picks who had no success with the Saints

this is not an attack on Pete Werner but I couldn't help but wonder why the Saints extended him before the season started.

three years 22.50 million over 17 million guaranteed. I'm sure that will be altered seeing how the Saints do business but...... why not let on the field performance earn an extension before you did that? Maybe it was a timeline thing? I don't know. Just wondering.

but you can really tell when a defense is lacking when the LB's aren't very fast. DeMario gives everything he has. Sewell even looked when he got the start @ the Bucs last game.

I hope Werner comes back and balls next year. And yes, the Saints have to be better in the defensive interior. But there is layers to this.
