He signed for less and has been a great teammate.

He's completely outplayed his contract.

It isn't a terrible request and understandable.

He signed his contract fully aware of what he was agreeing to. If I were Loomis and he threatened to hold out I'd tell him to feel free. I would fine him the maximum amount possible.

Awesome idea. Hope you like Corey White and Brian Dixon.

This. We have no leverage and he knows it. The team is showing that they will cut bait with anyone not Brees. I cannot blame him one bit. Saints are stupid to roll the dice on this one.

Screw Lewis. Who the hell does he think he is to demand his contract (that he negotiated and signed) be guaranteed. When has that ever been done by any player in the NFL without some benefit to the team.

The problem with this situation is that now there is a major strife between him and the organization. So they guarantee him the money (which they should not because it sets precedent) but it is still out there on instagram that he is already saying bye and wants out. You think someone so rash and unprofessional is going to be thrilled to play for you ?

I would expect most fans and Loomis to say "Forget you Keenan, you are under contract. Instead of handling this behind closed doors with your agent, you throw a tantrum and want to threaten me ???!!!? I don't think so."

What an unprofessional little bitch.

Our only hope at CB. I love how so many of you get angry at a player wanting security, yet the GM cutting and trading so many others is considered great moves. The dude wants to be certain he isn't going to be axed like all the others. It's a fair stance given what's going on

If he is so good, he will be paid either way. And then it would be free market money, so it would be a lot.

He is being an unprofessional count. Going to stomp his feet and throw a tantrum and talk to reporters instead of handling this behind closed doors with his agent and Loomis. He has now caused a strife that will not be healed most likely.

Forget him.

He'll play. He won't sit there racking up fines everyday and not get his salary just to prove a point.

He has no leverage. None. Zero.

Screw the Saints. Who the hell do they think they are to terminate Curtis Lofton's contract (that they negotiated and signed)?

Lofton knew that could happen when he put his John Hancock on the contract.

As did Lewis.

Once you sign, you've essentially lost all leverage.

Are you stupid, or trolling? Do you seriously think that no NFL player has successfully held out? Including the best Saints player of all time?

Comparing a future hall of famer, Superbowl winning, team carrying top ten ever quarterback to Keenan Lewis ?

Nah, get that out of here.
