Sorry if I piss anyone off with this, but I am sick of everytime the media talks about the Saints they bring up Katrina.
I'm sick of it too. However it's difficult to separate the two. The Saints went through the similar difficulties as many people did on the gulf coast in terms of losing your home and living like a gypsy for months after the storm. The thing that irks me the most is that the media plays up the Katrina story for ratings, and ratings only.

Let's take an analytical look at your rant and de-construct it, piece by piece in order to reveal whether you are making any logical sense here, shall we?
First off, you say that you are sick of the MEDIA storyline linking the Saints to Katrina, right? Yes. So, is your beef with the media? Yes.
Do the Saints have control over what the media says? No. So, right here, we know that you are in the wrong place with your complaint. If you get a bad meal from McDonald's, do you go to Burger King to expect resolution of your complaint? No. So, you aren't making logical sense here.
The "pitty" [sic] trip is getting old? Again, your complaint about the media is presented to the wrong forum. No logical reason for you to be here with this complaint.
Finally, you say that "a lot of areas are still messed up because the individuals that owned the property did nothing for themselves to recover and wait on hand-outs." This is a conclusory statement that is unsupported by evidence. Not only that, but, your conclusory statement that is unsupported by evidence is confusing and invalid.
For example, Lakeview was flooded with ten feet of water. So was Broadmoor. Are you talking about the people of those two areas?
Also, you refer to people of New Orleans whose areas are still messed up because the property owners did nothing "for themselves to recover and wait on hand-outs." Are you aware that this sentence is a non-sequitur in that it makes no sense? It's not a coherent sentence. Could you re-phrase your statement in correct English, please? How can we be confident in your analysis of the media coverage of New Orleans sports and Katrina when you write in such incoherent sentences?
Finally, this "point" of yours about property owners doing nothing for themselves except sitting and waiting for "hand-outs", is sort of coming from "left field" if you will. What logical nexus can there be between lazy property owners in NOLA and the content of the National Broadcasting Company's pre-game coverage of a Saints game? Again, your brain synapses are mis-firing and cross-firing, because there's no logical nexus there. And you are presenting THIS complaint to the wrong forum, because we are not the National Broadcasting Company, nor have you any reason or evidence to base a conclusion that we here are lazy NOLA property owners.
So, in conclusion, you are clearly as fricked up as football bat.

The biggest reason why I hate it is because it makes people assume we're still whining about it. I know I don't really give a shite about Vikes fans, but an example is when they were complaining "Refs are giving the game to the Saints because of Katrina." I and the rest of the fanbase don't whine about Katrina anymore, but the Katrina coverage makes it seem like we do.

I know you have issues with what this guy is saying, but be real. "Saints Talk" is the place to rant about coverage of a Saints game.

Just stop already. It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as ignorant than to open your mouth (in this case type the shite out) and remove all doubt.
Wow great response, tons of substance there!

is apples and oranges. Regardless of the number of deaths on 9/11, no one doubted that NYC would exist ever again
You have a really good point there, I'll concede that point.

Thank You! Evidently Champagne is someone you can not have a conversation with. Like many of these other people on this board!

i am too
katrina is about 5 years old now, and the saints have made the playoffs twice since returning to nola
it's a dead story regarding football as far as i'm concerned

TV networks are in the business of ratings
Katrina is an up-close-and-personal, human interest story that helps draw viewers -- especially women -- who don't know fade routes from faded jeans.
Get used to Katrina stories. As long as the Saints are relevant, they're not going away.

WTF, you are DEFENDING this moron? Did moron really think that he would find anybody on Saints Talk to agree with his moronic opinion?
No. Of course not. He's probably here to stir shite.
Let him speak for himself and defend himself. You don't need to help him, unless you are his father.

Better than being a failed lawyer like you with a low-paying, going nowhere job on the fringes of the legal profession.
You got NOTHING, Slo Flow Pro. NOTHING. I eat little punks like you for lunch.
Anybody else got a problem with me?

Don't you worry about that! I know how to defend my self just fine jack arse! And if you would read and shut your fricking mouth, I am not saying that Katrina should ever be forgotten about! I am not saying that Katrina should never be mentioned for a saints game again, but it should not be mentioned at nauseum for every fricking saints broadcast! I have many friends and family from that area, and they too are sick of hearing it EVERY frickING SAINTS GAME. So before you open your fricking mouth, why don't you listen or read first.

Your post covered two totally different topics. You first went on your tirade about being tired of Katrina only to turn around and pull the "what about my down here in Cameron parish" bullshite. Your rant started out as a shot against the media but then you threw in the jab at the city itself. For that I hope you see Katrina coverage over and over in your sleep for the rest of your life.
