the best part is, Ellerbe which is also a new guy is playing just as good if not better ball than them two. Dude has 21 tackles in like 6-7 quarters of play past 2 games.

Agreed. Ellerbe is a monster. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

The Saints finally have good linebackers again. Ellerbe, Anthony, & Kikaha...I love it. Not saying he's good or anything, but we also have Hawthorne coming off the bench. He's a legit backup. Edebali can get to the qb on 3rd down also. Ireland is legit...he is responsible for all 3 of our starting LB's.

Ellerbe was helped off in the 4th qtr. Second straight game he didn't finish. Hopefully it isn't serious and he can go next game, but damn he keeps getting dinged.

Also, I keep hearing receiver blah blah blah. Brees had at least 5 bad overthrows of wide open guys. His accuracy has been poor more often than not this year. The line wasn't helping him in some games, but he had time in this one and at the Cardinals and he was his most inaccurate in those two.

I agree with this. I sorta equate this with getting freshman the meaningful gametime to develop theory. But now, if we could get some starters back and guys to play up to their past potential so these guys that were intended to be backups and situation players (Breaux/Wilson etc.) this team can be solid with exception depth.

A linebacking corp of Ellerbeast, Anthony, and Kikaha has been outstanding to watch

And pressure on the QB no less! Cam looked awesome. Coverage, but for the two trip ups, were superb. It was a very well-played game. I've told folks before, you can't even know if you want to get rid of Rob Ryan because he hasn't had any players to field between injuries and attitudes. He's got some young guys, and it's showed. But he's also got some guys that seem to play well in his scheme (Breaux is aggressive), and that with their high motor youth (Kikaha, Anthony) is showing.

I hoped the D would gel near mid season, and it looks like it's starting to. Mmmm, it feels good to have a chance.

This team has totally shocked me the last two weeks

From totally being obliterated at Philly to destroying both Atlanta and Indianapolis, two playoff caliber squads. If we can get on a roll I really like our chances at making the playoffs.

This team has a newfound energy and swagger

Best part about our D doing well is that Robs job is not in danger and we get to keep him around because lets face it we all love having that crazy fat bastard as part of our team. Cant imagine not having that belly sloshing around on the side lines.

It could be that Payton and Ryan are smarter than we idiots give them credit for. This defense is very young with at least 5 rookies playing on a regular basis if they break .500 this year, Payton should be hailed for the genius that he is and Ryan should be given a break. Now get us a legit tall deep threat on offense.
