That was such a fun time to be a Saints fan. Our offense was so explosive and could score on any play.

That was possibly the greatest Saints team of all time. I still can’t believe how our defense let us down in San Francisco that day. I feel like we had a championship stolen from us. It’s still depressing to watch the end of that game 12 years later and seeing how everything unraveled.

That Saints team was going to kill the New York Giants in the Superdome the next week , and we would have had a great shot against the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Such a damn shame that we didn’t make it out of San Francisco.

(Also, Donte Whitner is a dirty punk for his head to head hit on Pierre Thomas early in the game that broke Pierre’s jaw and knocked him out of the game.)

PT Cruiser will always be one of my favorite Saints and for some reason always overshadowed and overlooked

Need a first down, a clutch play, a momentum building down...PT23 always came through

Even in the SB...if not Drew...Pierre was the MVP that day

That team beats 09 7-8/10 times I think. That offense was insane.

The ghost of Vernon Davis still haunts my dreams open over the middle.

Everyone knew the ball was going to Vernon Davis and we still couldn’t stop it

This is our toughest loss because this team should have won the Super Bowl that year

Not even a debate. 2011 was our best team ever.

I agree. I still contend that loss stung more than the Minnesota Miracle or the Rams No-Call PI.

The latter losses were unexpected, abrupt & shocking, but to watch SF & Vernon Davis score in 40 seconds felt like an eternity dealing with the repeating stabbing thought of the inevitable: "We're going to lose this game."

Always felt the same way about Colston... never got the proper respect he deserved outside of NOLA

No loss stings more than the no call for me.

But if we can stop Vernon Davis and the refs actually throw the flag, we have two more Lombardis.

My watch party ended right after Vernon killed us. Wifey wasn’t happy with my behavior.

Should have knocked him out of the game. The Saints were not a dirty team like the 49ers were(are).

It was Malcolm X Jenkins who blew the coverage on the 40 yard gain of Vernon Davis. Toughest loss I have ever experienced. We win this game we host the Giants in the Dome in the NFC Championship game & we had already blown them out earlier in the year.

The Donte Whitner head shot that knocked Pierre Thomas out cold with no flag thrown & no ejection was crucial in this game & hurt our screen game

The no call on PT was a 14 pt swing. We were about to score and they went down and scored after the dirty hit and fumble

The last NFL game I attended. The treatment before, during and after the game by the 49ers fans with security only standing a few feet away was terrible. The NFL office decision not to take any action although there were numerous complaints submitted by Saints fans in attendance caused me to cancel my Saints season tickets.

For me though it was the Alex Smith touchdown run a few minutes before that was the killer. How do you let the QB loose on a designed bootleg?
