Just curious on thoughts regarding T.J. Hall, CB

I know his 40 time wasn’t great but how big of a deal is that in Staley’s zone heavy scheme? He seems to have good reaction, discipline, instincts, and a good tackler. All those seem to fit a good zone scheme.

He's a 7th rounder. If he makes the 53 man roster I will be impressed.
I have no expectations for him so anything he can contribute (likely ST) will be a win.

Seems to be a good fit in our system. He has a real chance to make roster and compete sooner than later.
Koolaid
Riley
Emerson
Yiadom/Wright/Hall etc.

Whats the CB depth chart looking like?

I saw that Matt Miller (ESPN) listed him in his top 100 best "picks, steals, fits":
88. TJ Hall, CB, New Orleans Saints (Pick 7-219)
My final overall ranking: No. 127
Along with the earlier wide receivers and tight ends, the Saints potentially stole a valuable cornerback in Round 7. Hall didn't test well at the combine (4.59 in the 40), but he'll be an option as a fourth corner who can play on the inside or outside of the formation. His technique and experience at the line of scrimmage give him a great chance to make the team.

His 10 yard split and three cone times were bottom 10 percentile too. Not many CBs in the league who move like this. Anything you can get out of a 7th is lagniappe

notable CBs who ran a 4.5 or worse in recent history:
Richard Sherman
Marcus Peters
Xavien Howard
Joe Haden
Josh Norman

I'm more optimistic. His rating for tackles near the line are great whatever round. He is a better at tackles than most corners taken earlier. So why didn't he get picked earlier? Not a man corner and one of the slowest 40 times. But we play zone around 70% I think. Longshots are just that...until they are not. I think he can certainly make the team PS.

CB: Kool- Aid/ M Emerson
CB: Q Riley/ Yiadom/ TJ Hall
NB: / L Styles
So really Kool-Aid, Riley, Emerson are the only locks. I'd imagine Styles may be safe for ST + NB potential > Hall.
I do hope we get K Moore and that pretty much solves all the CB issues until we see how Kool-Aid/ Riley develop.
