I agree with you that the approach to injury questions ever since Moore arrived leaves a lot to be desired. He straight up lies during press conferences and it's starting to become a credibility issue
Just say you aren't going to answer it if that's your approach. Stop doing the vague mealy mouthed thing

you were never told he did not have a ruptured hamstring.
Correct.
So, instead of having a reasonable expectation, fans have been calling this dude a wasted pick because these soft tissue injuries were known and he's never going to be able to overcome it.
And, we have people reasonably expecting a 4 week timeframe (thinking this is just a standard hamstring pull) getting frustrated that we are at week 7 and he still isn't practicing.
It's bad business. It just raises all of the same mickey mouse questions that exist across the entire organization.
Meanwhile, a well run organization released the injury on a true superstar within 2 days of the injury. It set a timeline that was not positive from a fans perspective, yet that organization didn't run from the reality.

And I didn't say that we did either. He has a hamstring injury and that timeline matches Tyson's does it not?
My point is that if we had heard it was a ruptured hamstring, people's expectations would have been more in line with the timeline we seem to be on. Right now, everyone is in the dark. And, we are STILL getting no expectation of what the timeline is.

It frustrates the fans and invites questions into how you are running (poorly) the organization.
Fans will stop being frustrated when they realize that these people to not answer to the fans, or care what they think. As long as they have the information internally and can answer to Gayle, Dennis, Mickey and the board, they don't give a shite about the rest of us

So he hasn't played in a single game yet he's had 2 injuries? This is what happens when you draft an often injured player. The Saints gamble way too much with injured college players and it doesn't work in their favor. How's about skip them and draft someone else that can contribute to the team immediately. Especially at the #8 spot in the draft.

this was never reasonable. this is being a dumb fan.
saints have always been a very tight lipped organization for the most part.

How can anyone be shocked that an often injured college player has been injured basically immediately after starting training camp?
Seeing suit up once this season would be a win in my eyes but damn a #8 pick and has contributed 0 so far.

You just said the Saints didn't release a timeline and didn't release any information that would have indicated the seriousness of the injury. He was put on IR, so we knew it was at least 4 weeks. But, that was after 2 weeks recovery in Training camp.
It was absolutely reasonable for some to think week 5 was a target given the information (lack thereof).
What are you pointing to that allows you to conclude that only dumb people thought week 5 was a possibility?

was at least 4 weeks.
and you're saying a 4 week expectation is reasonable. anything you then assume is just an assumption bro. again, there is nothing to gain with information. people are already dissecting every word he says in the press conference. Its ridiculous the over analysis constantly going on over a bunch of nothings. Time lines and recovery are fluid, especially when you're dealing with someone with a history of other bs.

possibility and expectations are totally different.

Two hamstring injuries are hurting this team. Hamstring injuries are avoidable with proper preparation. The Athletic Trainers are to blame for this.

It was reasonable without information that indicated this was a more serious injury.

That's my point. The organization didn't release any information that would help an outsider know what to expect. And, you do realize that the organization still isn't releasing anything. Any attempt to figure out how long Tyson will be out is just another guess/assumption.

retarded

You aren't even making a point now. It's reasonable for someone to incorrectly "expect" a timeframe when the organization intentionally withholds information.
Compare the information released on Tyson to the information released on Kelvin Banks. We immediately knew the nature of the injury, that he had surgery, and that this was a "10 week" type of injury.

You should see the IR's around the league on players great and not so great out with hammys

its never reasonable to make assumptions without actual information.

they don't need to. i'm sorry this is so difficult for you to understand. If Mickey had released that there was an expectation of 6-8 weeks and it ends up being 10, he still gets completely shite on giving you dumb fricks an honest answer in the beginning.

so you have expectations of certain timelines of injuries without the full scope of said injuries. that's just a stupid arse fan imo.

4 days after injury, it was reported that tyson would be out APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS and yet fans are still bitching about whatever it is that they find to bitch about.

So, your opinion is that fans should accept that they don't get to know what the organization's expectation is related to when Tyson should be available.
I disagree.

Well, a well run organization would, at week 6 or 7 in that scenario, updated the media that "the recovery timeline has moved back to 7-10 weeks".
But, at least you admit they are hiding the information because they are afraid of the backlash from discussing the reality. We agree. You just accept it. I think it's a CLEAR sign of a poorly run organization.

Every fan does this.
And, it shouldn't be ignored that the way it handled the Banks injury was different. CLEARLY, the organization is hiding from this.

jesus. you're a lost cost. you think you are owed shite, you're really not. if they give honest info out then all it does is open themselves up to further backlash if not correct. there is no winning. And there is no competitive advantage by continuing to over inform the world on all injury related information. Saints run a tight ship. you were given a 2 month apprx timeline and here you are still fricking whining.

That is basically the 4 weeks of regular season I mentioned which you called retarded. He was injured on August 13. Week 5 was played on October 11.
Now we are entering Week 7. No updated timeline. Haven't opened the window yet.

they just updated you, he won't practice this week.

I don't agree. Being afraid of the truth is never a good business strategy. A well run organization would control the conversation.
"We are expecting 2 months due to A, B, C..."
If he's ahead of schedule, you can say "Tyson has done great with his recovery. We are going to open the window early..."
If he's behind schedule you say "These injuries can be difficult and as much as we look forward to having Tyson on the field, it is important that we manage this appropriately. Our current target is closer to ..."
It's kind of funny to think "If we just don't say ANYTHING, people won't ask questions. Or, If we don't say ANYTHING, we won't get criticism for drafting a player with a known injury history".
quote:
And there is no competitive advantage by continuing to over inform the world on all injury related information
There's no competitive disadvantage on a long term injury.

The Saints are a poorly run organization. It frustrates its own fanbase. It's bad business.

It's been over 2 month dude. There's no updated timeline.
