You are aware that it takes TWO teams to make a trade, right?

If, as you opine, there is....

quote:

No franchise QB available at #1

Then what would be the incentive for another team to trade valuable capital to get up to #1?

Literally every guy you named except Baker is bigger than Simpson

Let’s not get away from it here. None of the QBs I named had elite size.

quote:

Every single one is more accurate

What? Certainly not based on completion %. And only burrow tops him in air yards / attempt. Simpson leads the conference so he’s not dinking and dunking his way to 70% completion

Ball placement, touch, anticipation are all quantified in completion percentage

quote:

has more arm strengt

negligible differences. None are elite. If you can do this you have “arm talent”

all of them started way more games than Simpson will have after this year.

This is true but I’m not sure it matters

quote:

The NFL drafts traits. It’s just how it works. Simpson lacks traits. People on this board are obsessed with specifically how good a guy looks in college and that’s only part of the equation. Mendoza looks great and is a stellar college QB, literally better than Simpson in EVERY WAY and even he isn’t a great prospect.

So they draft off traits and production? No shite. There isn’t a specific model for identifying QBs. There are far more great NFL QBs with Simpsons profile than there are with guys with elite traits. Saying these other guys have elite accuracy, decision making, processing etc and not Simpson is a wild take

quote:

And I’ll say it again…he’s playing in a great offense that just sent a top 10 draft pick QB to the NFL in 2024 and that guy has better traits in every category than Simpson, and it’s still up in the air whether he is even good.

All of those guys played in great college offensive schemes with great talent around them. They all thrived in air raid type systems. You aren’t dinging guys for playing under Lincoln Riley or Joe Brady

You can just say we need to see more of Simpson, and I would agree. Most of the claims you are making are a bit outlandish and borderline made up

What metrics are you using to determine accuracy for elite traits for some of these guys in comparison to Simpson this year?

Not saying you’re wrong, because I haven’t watched him enough. Just curious.

Not using metrics. Just using my eyes.

Completion% by itself is not a good measuring stick for how accurate a guy is. It can be if you put it together with some other things like ADOT and TTS.

I love the draft. I consume more draft content and spend more time just watching college player film than I do actively watching normal football. Obviously I'm just a regular person and not a professional but I feel pretty strongly about this one

There are 10+ QBs in this draft I would pick before Simpson

Wow. Really?

Smart. Can move and throw on the run. More athletic than he looks. Coaches son. Wants to be great. Has great arm strength. Bama does have an elite line tho but he is a gamer to me.

Fair enough, I can appreciate the bold take. Not many are going to plant their flag on that stance.

I put up a scenario where a million to 1 shot that Loomis trades back.

Forget the trade back…. Loomis not gonna do it. Loomis is gonna Loomis !!!!

Saints need the highest pick they can get to spin the wheel and hope they land a good player.

Draft the best player the Saints scouts feel is available.

Now … whether we feel the Saints Scouts have the ability to identify a potential franchise player at ANY position AT ALL….

Is a Separate Conversation.

But …. In YOUR Infinite Wisdom
you left out the key piece of information per the Saints Scouts that I listed !!!

— Whether or not the Saints Scouts have ANY ability AT ALL to identify ANY player with ANY talent….
Is a Separate Conversation !!!

Weird comment coming off a draft class that appears pretty rewarding for the most part.

The only thing WEIRD is you apparently think the Saints Scouts can CONSISTENTLY identify talent (Year After Year) in the draft when ….

Their current WIn-Loss Record and Recent Draft History over the Last Several Years ..is a FACTUAL TESTAMENT to the EXACT OPPOSITE !!!

I’m sorry to take your comments and turn them into shreds but … you gotta bring something to the table, Guy.

No Excuses Pal !!

Saints Organization is littered with Excuses and the facts don’t lie.

Scouts are still the SAME.

Like I said… sorry to shred your comments

Hahahaha
