He’s shown some really good flashes in the pass game. Josh Hill is a solid #2 and we likely draft someone in the mid rounds as our #3

Thoughts?

that was a great route

prob draft another, but more than likely add a FA veteran as well

cook wont resign, think theyll offer much less money

I don't think Cook is under contract for next year.

He's a FA after this season but has a $2M cap hit next season due to a pro-rated bonus.

I wish he would be used more than Cook now. Cook is too inconsistent and rarely comes through in the clutch

His route running looks legit

He is somewhat of a liability in pass protection and run blocking. He definitely needs to make significant strides there. But I think his offensive upside is still very high though.

Possibly. Cook has been a disappointment, to the detriment of my fantasy team.

Our receiving TE hasn’t been called to do much blocking since Josh Hill has been here. Saints will likely employ another blocking TE for Trautman’s tenure. Most teams in the league has a blocking TE rostered

I like Trautman. He shows promise. 8 targets, 7 receptions, 92 yards, 13.1 avg, 1 TD. I think in the next couple of years, he could be a legit receiving weapon.

With that said, I quickly reviewed our favorite non-blocking TE Jimmy Graham's stats because I remember his first year, he also showed promise while playing behind an established vet.

Graham:
1st year: 31 rec, 357 yards, 11.5 avg, 5 TDs
2nd year: 99 rec, 1310 yards, 13.2 avg, 11 TDs

Yeah, JG was on another level.

Graham’s first 9 games

19 targets
13 receptions
170 yards
1 TD

Trautman’s first 9 games

8 targets
7 receptions
92 yards
1 TD

But we also had 417 pass attempts at that time in 2010. This year we’ve attempted only 337

Trautman catches one pass in the game and everyone loves him. He almost dropped/fumbled it. But I hope he becomes a stud.
