The Saints have already offered to make him the highest paid receiver in football and it doesn’t seem to matter. It seems like he just wants to be the first guy to $20 million a season for 5 minutes until Julio Jones or someone passes him.

He's been throwing that number out the whole time. Sounds like he is just being consistent and standing firm.

He's missing hot summer practices, not getting hurt and still going to get paid.

Not really. He's doing what's best for his career & making sure he doesn't get injured before he signs a new deal.

The only thing that would anger me is if he's not staying in shape.

His agent & the FO will get the deal done eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Plenty of stuff to get angry about. This is not one of them. Even in a sports context he has not done anything to get angry about.

It's not the 20 million. It's the guaranteed money and everything else they are working on. Be patient, it's not like he needs to get better with practice.

Nope...

and the drama with Murray is a good reminder that you don't part ways with critical parts of your team without a damned good reason.

IMO, saving a million dollars is not that reason.

Paying 20 million to a receiver will start the downfall

Is it not pretty much accepted that the Saints are going all-in while Brees is here to try and get another Super Bowl?

Is he worth 19? Because that seems to be where the team is... are you really advocating we blow MT out of the team over a million bucks?

That will be the price tag for a top 5 receiver. He is a top 5 receiver. Not at all upset.

I agree except that the difference wasn't just a million dollars until the saints sign Murray and Ingram lost his leverage.

Prior to that, he was trying to get the ravens and saints to outbid each other. Saints said no thank you.

I would pay him slightly more than OBJ ($18,250,000.00)

Seems we are tight on cap space and have some other big contracts to consider ie...Kamara. $1.75 million could be used elsewhere. FWIW i think it's crazy to pay a WR more than 10-12 million a year..... but that's just my opinion.

After seeing what happened to AJ Green I’d be okay with Kamara doing a “holdout”

The FO cannot cave to every contract demand for every player
