Yea, this year was the year. We're rebuilding next year. It's inevitable. We just need to try and position ourselves as best we can for a rebuild of talent.
Getting a new DC will help. Hopefully hr can make some good moves with the D, to put less pressure on our offense after we lose some guys.
We definitely have to make choices this year.
Brees is a given, but your going to have to replace at least two major pieces. Do you let Colston and Nicks walk, or do you slash and burn the defense?
Either way, we're probably 2 years at least from being on the 2011 level again.

They'll wrap up brees' and Nicks will be Franchised. The problem is how are we going to retain Colston?

We are always going to be in playoff discussions and going deep into them as long as we have Brees. I think we tag Nicks and re-sign colston IMO. We need to put some pounds on Martez Wilson and stick him on the D-Line as a pass rusher. Honestly, our D can't get worse. We need to suck it up and resign both Nicks and Colston. And just draft defense. We can let Porter walk, Robinson is better anyway

This is where the Harper deal is going to cripple the Saints. It's going to go down as one of the worst deals in Saints history and potentially have an effect on the core of the offense.

I fear not true. Hard to sustain. Other teams get better. No real injuries this year. I think we struggle to make playoffs next year. And we've already proved only way to win in playoffs is with home games.

Offense is still going to be top 3.
Pierre, Sproles, Ingram, Jimmy, Lance Moore and I forgot Brees (resign) will all be back. The entire Offensive line will be back because Nicks will be franchised.
Like I said the only person I'm afraid we may not be able to retain is Colston.
