You're still beating a dead horse for no reason because I don't think a single person who posted in this thread would disagree.

Then, once again, there was no reason for hostility, and it's more than a bit stupid to call somebody "idiotic" while agreeing with him.

It means some stats or worthless without context. Did he make guys miss? Did the guys who missed take bad angles? Was it just poor tackling? Did Ingram break all 7 tackles on one or two runs?

He may very well have just bulldozed 7 guys. I'm not saying he didn't. Just saying that stat on it's own is hard to figure out what exactly it means without context.
Ok?

Yeah, no stat is perfect.
Drew Brees' stats from last night would suck if his receivers decided to drop everything.

But Brees' stats were great.
I have no reason to say "you know, there were other factors. I bet Brees didn't really have that good of a game."

I don't think I called you idiotic. I might have but i don't feel like going back to check. Also I find it more annoying to keep arguing with people who agree with you.

ETA: ok now I'm back out

So you are saying for a fact that he broke exactly one tackle on 7 of his 14 runs? See, this is why I don't feel bad when people like you don't agree with things I say.

No, I'm saying you didn't watch the game apparently if you think Ingram just ran straight through wide open holes all night. I don't give a shite how you feel about me disagreeing with you. You're wrong. This isn't opinion, there is game film you can watch to verify, since you clearly didn't watch the game last night.

quote:

Ingram had great numbers. That's a fact. Again, only reason I replied was because everyone was crapping on the OP for saying this doesn't mean all of a sudden Ingram's skills are improved.

The OP is a known troll and village idiot. You're not doing yourself any favors trying to stick up for him. Especially with your views of what you claimed to watch last night.

quote:

What's the more likely scenario, this was one random good game that he won't have again, or Ingram really is improved and this will lead to more big games? If you believe the former, this debate is silly, and you just started this because you don't like the OP. If you believe the latter, good for you for being optimistic.

Of course I don't think he's going to average 10 YPC all the time. But I'm not going to downplay a great performance just for the sake of being Debbie downer. Hopefully this gives him the confidence he needs to run like we all know he is capable of.

If you didn't think he was more agile last night than compared to previous games, I know damn well you and the billion random facebook posting fans don't watch the game often if at all.

Go download the game through the torrent, watch it again, make gifs, and prove us wrong that he didn't break tackles on any of his runs.

What does breaking tackles even have to do with agility? You think hitting huge holes on straight ahead runs involves agility?

On the very few runs where the hole wasn't there, he looked like a running back in a video game that stumbles backwards when he runs into the offensive line. And on one run when he tried to break it outside, which involves side to side movements, which is agility, he again stumbled and looked silly.

For goodness sake people, it doesn't take much skill to run through the holes the o-line made for him last night. But of course, even though this is common sense, you all are the one's who know everything obviously. PT was still the more impressive runner in my opinion.

I'm a "troll" because I make people like you look stupid, apparently. You feel "trolled" because somebody asked you if you were particularly impressed with Mark Ingram? You need to grow up, obviously.

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, truly considers me an idiot, but you have made yourself look idiotic here by calling me one and then essentially agreeing to just about everything I said.

Not much... and the tackles he "broke" were not of the run-em-over or bounce-off-them type, I can assure you. Somebody was being generous with a "stat" there.

What really matters is whether Ingram's production on a consistent basis was worth the first round draft choice and the other roster machinations that were made to keep him.
Funny, because your OP wasn't about his production. It was so you could bitch about how he doesn't look like a running back should look in your oh so experienced eye.

I did notice that you didn't dispute my point about being a miserable schmuck. It is therefore deemed admitted.

Yea, you've made me look very stupid saying things such as Ingram broke no tackles last night. What masterful insight you've gained in your 55 years of watching football.

Permaban bet that I can find at least one person that truly considers you an idiot. Put your money where your mouth is.

Orly?

I don't recall him breaking any tackles. I recall him with a couple of opportunities to take it to the house and getting dragged down by the safety rather easily.

You're just typing now to hear the keyboard click. It's YOU who brought up the topic of "what matters", so I responded. MY topic was to ask if you were impressed.

If I took the time to dispute every lie and insult hurled my way there'd be little time for anything else. Your "deemed" on that score is about as wise as your "deemed" that Mark Ingram's one performance against a shitty defense is "all that matters"... i.e., not very.

I DON'T recall him breaking any tackles. I didn't say he didn't. Some "broken tackles" are little more than putting a hand on somebody. Like I said, you're stupid and a liar.

you and laundry sure are stretching arguments. you're the type of guys to twist the meaning of something just to argue for sakes (i.e. your arguments that a tackler took a bad angle so that results in a missed tackle or some load of bullshite)

Maybe to feed the trollish egos you two have to feel like you know football or maybe because you two seriously don't know football and think we drafted drew brees or something stupid.

I'm gonna propose a bet because you'd surely win if I'm wrong. I get the video evidence of ingram's runs and prove that you two are just idiots, you get a self-imposed ban until the day after superbowl. I'm wrong, I'll gladly take the ban til forever long. Since your 55 years of football must trump my <20 that's an easy win. Hell, I'll put $100 on the line.

Dude, you're so pathetic that I almost feel bad for you. But please acknowledge the ban bet. I mean you're so
Confident about it, right? Or are you going to run off with your tail between your legs?

What's the bet? That I'm going to be more impressed with Mark Ingram than I was on first viewing?
