He displayed good burst, some good moves, and moved the pile a bit yesterday.

Ingram had the one of the fastest first 10 yard splits when coming out as a rookie. He never did and was brought here to be a game breaker. The explosiveness we saw last night, getting to the second level, is what we brought him here to do. We saw a glimpse of what we thought we had when drafting him. Stop hating and appreciate this guys effort.

I'm going to leave this here.

from PFF and blues for posting it on the other thread:

"Ingram forced seven missed tackles on his way to 145 yards on 14 carries, including a touchdown"

Anyone else post the exact same thing and, sure, its divisive, but not all the hate for someone who has drastically different political opinions.

This is easily the weirdest message board I've ever been on. Even when people agree with you, they still somehow manage to sh!t all over you and call you a troll. The responses in the thread make no sense, and I'm not sure what was so horrible about what the OP said.

If you had never seen the Saints or MI run and watched that game you would be impressed with that performance no matter the situation or opponent.
If this was a rookie's 1st game you would say great now show me more.
If this was a guy oft injured and coming back you would saw great game now show me more.
If this was a guy underwhelming for 2+ years you would say great damn game show me more.

I saw a guy who was running 15 yards downfield before anyone touched him. I saw a guy who isn't very fast or explosive, and stumbles over himself if there in no hole or if he has to move side to side instead of straight ahead.

Literally any running back in the league could have done what he did with those holes. I have a feeling this might be the worst thing that could have happened, because now he is sure to get a ton of carries the rest of the season, even if he goes back to looking like he always has before.

It's the "he did well but don't get too excited" intention behind the thread that I find a bit insulting. I don't think anyone is going to say he's been even close to worth a 1st round pick, but we hope for improvement with the continuation of the o-line's improvement.

So you didn't watch the game last night then?

So what happened with Sproles and Thomas? They didn't do what Ingram did last night and had the same holes against the same defense. One more time. This is fricking pathetic.

How shitty did PT look last night by your logic?

In PT, I saw a guy who drags tacklers with him, and doesn't need huge holes to look good. PT is great in gaining yards after being hit and falling forward. But you can't see those things just by looking at stats.

Yes, because the holes are exactly the same on every play. Not like PT constantly wiggles out of tackles in traffic to get those extra 2 or 3 yards. Yep, not like PT was breaking tackles while Ingram was mostly running untouched. You know your stuff.

How do you explain?

Know my stuff? Ingram broke a tackle on half his runs last night. You're talking out your arse trying to diminish a good performance.

and improved vision

See, this is what annoys me. Now all of a sudden he has great vision. He never had great vision before, but now he does. It couldn't just be that he didn't have to make any moves and all he had to do was run straight ahead through huge holes, which involves no vision. Nope, great vision is what it was.

He should tell the O-line to try harder when he's in from now on

The guy said improved, not great. Learning to read would be a good start to not looking like a retard.

And he made several good cuts last night. I'm convinced you didn't watch the game.

The problem is, you take a stat like "forced seven missed tackles", and you conclude that he forced a missed tackle on half his runs, because he had 14 carries. How do you know he didn't have multiple missed tackles on 2 or 3 runs instead?

How do we know those missed tackles aren't with like 3 guys trying to tackle him at the end of a run? There is no context there. I personally only saw him break one important tackle in that game. But yeah, if you guys want to claim that this dude whose biggest failure has been that he hasn't lived up to his hype as specifically a power back, now has power, go right ahead.

Not trying to diminish anything. O-line was amazing, and that makes running backs look amazing, and Ingram hit the holes that were there. Only reason I even replied in this thread was because everyone was crapping on the OP for saying we shouldn't expect this from Ingram in the future, which is right considering his career so far. Not sure what the big deal was.

I don't recall him breaking any tackles. I recall him with a couple of opportunities to take it to the house and getting dragged down by the safety rather easily.
