so in theory, saying you started "analyzing" football at the young age of 5. that puts you at 60ish. Nice!

news flash though, being older doesn't mean you "know" football. hell, even bobby hebert who played football speaks like he knows shite about football.

Is he the second coming of adrian peterson? No.
Is he a shifty speedster like shady? No, that's not his game.
Is he someone who can POSSIBLY average 4-4.5ypc for a team that throws a ton? Surely hopeful.

Ain't no damn person thinks he's elite, but if this game is what he can do occasionally, I'd be happy with above average.

It's not like we're looking for the second coming of AP here. We just need a RB who gets more than 2 ypc. He did it yesterday, we are hopeful he will do it again. End of story.

Farty 9ers
Seattle
Carolina x2

With these defenses I think we are gonna see more of the usual Ingram down the stretch unfortunately. He looked good last night but the stars were aligned for him to have a great game. I'm not sold yet.

people bringing their animosity over from the political board.....

Anyone else post the exact same thing and, sure, its divisive, but not all the hate for someone who has drastically different political opinions.

not trying to be the party basher here or take anything away from Ingram, but I'd say that was a pretty bad Dallas defense... Lets see in the next few weeks what happens, ( Frisco, Seattle, Carolina..etc) then we can talk.....

Then there should be no hostility to my premise. You weren't THAT impressed, either.

you can have an awesome, explosive day without being elite.

Your premises are often incorrect.

But what? The guy ran for 145 yards on 14 carries. He ran like a maniac and exploded after every play. I've certainly stated numerous times that Ingram wasn't getting it done but just maybe he will build off this game and it'll give him the confidence he needs.

So maybe it's too early to declare Ingram a solid NFL back, but I'm not going to pick apart a great performance because he surprised me.

I'll take an unimpressive 145 yard game every time. Dumb thread

False. The guy is an idiot in every board, not just politics.

If you had never seen the Saints or MI run and watched that game you would be impressed with that performance no matter the situation or opponent.
If this was a rookie's 1st game you would say great now show me more.
If this was a guy oft injured and coming back you would saw great game now show me more.
If this was a guy underwhelming for 2+ years you would say great damn game show me more.

I'm not dumb like you to be seduced by stats from one game, where his blocking from the OL and downfield by the FB and receivers were exemplary. Like I said, he hit the holes fast and well, but I also saw him unable to overpower, blaze by, and/or juke safeties on two breakaway runs... just not as much dazzle as one should expect from a first round draft choice for whom we sacrificed a back who CAN do some of those things.

You might watch football, but I don't think you understand what you're seeing.

Whenever I haven't paid particular attention to which RB has been inserted, and the runner drags his tacklers and gains yards after contact that make you go "whoa"... it's inevitably number 23, and not 22.

You're free to think Ingram is suddenly some kind of great and improved runner, but NFL history is littered with 100 yard games from marginal running backs. I would love to eat my words by the end of the season, but I don't think I will have to.

Even if you had to eat your words, I don't think you will. Your arrogance and 55 years of watching football won't let you.

No one said he is a great rb but way to put words in our mouths. He showed great explosion through the hole and improved vision. He was never a guy that is going to break 70 yard td runs so not sure why you were expecting that. He had a good game and hopefully will continue to show improvement but no one is saying he's going to turn into a pro bowler

were you really THAT impressed with him? Yes, he found and hit the holes really well... quite an improvement... and he was obviously giving grade A+ effort. But is there true speed there? Tackle breaking power? Ankle breaking moves? I'm sorry... but I still didn't see any of that.

Best game as a Saint, yes.
Yes.
No.
No, not needed.
