Carmichael Junior has no feelings about his performance because of his entitlement in life.
He never had to earn anything. Never had to work for anything. When it came time to "earning the gig" after Payton retired, he said "I don't think I really want it" and had to be persuaded.
Pete Junior got his start in the NFL when his father Pete Senior was a NFL Offensive Coordinator for one lousy year with the Cleveland Browns in 2000 and hired his son into his first NFL job.
Carmichael Junior then had Payton take care of him for decade+ as a favor to Carmichael Senior.

Thankful for Carmichael the first 7 years. After that he was just robbed the Saints he had no business being on the organization

Guarantee you he was NOT the type of guy to learn about other innovative offense concepts at different levels of Football and went and spent time to learn more about them in case he wanted to install wrinkles.
