I'm just not buying the Bills being a solid 5-3 team

They've played 4 teams with an overall top 15 defense. Here's how they played on offense against each.
Carolina-loss
passing yards-126 rushing yards-69 total=195
Denver-win
passing yards-213 rushing yards-75 total=288
Atlanta- win
passing yards-182 rushing yards-117 total=299
Cincinnati-loss
passing yards-166 rushing yards-82 total=248

Not one game over 300 yards total offense.

Defense is 23rd overall. Allowing 94.4 rushing yards a game and 250.2 passing yards a game. Total=344.6

Saints are 15th overall on defense. Allowing 116.1 yards a game and 210.5 passing yards a game. Total=326.6(Note: this includes the first two games)
Saints are 2nd overall on offense. rushing yards 122.8 and passing yards 269.8 Total=382.6

Saints are better on special teams also.

The only edge the Bills have are rush defense and turnover margin on D with 17, 11 ints and 6 fumbles while giving up 4 ints and 2 fumbles for a +11 margin. The Saints have 9 ints and 3 fumbles on D, while giving up 4 ints and 5 fumbles for a +3 margin.

So far the weather outlook isn't good, cloudy 40% chance of rain,10 to 20 mph wind, temp 45 degrees. Both teams have to deal with that. We don't turn the ball over, the Bills don't win. That's the only reason they are 5-3.

I wouldn't be surprised either way on who wins this game.

now, if we just totally laid an egg and Buffalo won big, then yeah I would be.

but I don't see a blowout loss coming considering the balance the Saints have on offense and a defense that continues to find ways to get the job done.

Edit: if they win (bills) it probably be by a FG or less.

When looking at the Saints schedule in comparison to the Panthers, the Saints really need to win this game. The Saints schedule is so much more difficult than what Carolina has. Sucks but they have a way easier road to the division title than we do even though the Saints are the better team

The Saints need to take care of business. The Panthers are a bunch of weasels. Garbage team that lingers around and waits for the other team to give away the division. Saints gave away the division in 2013 and 2014 to these bums. Need to make sure there is no repeat of this situation.

Just playing devil’s advocate:

They won two of those four.
QB’s we’ve faced past three weeks: Hundley, Trubisky, injured Winston/Fitzpatrick.

I want to believe, but let’s not pretend we’re all-world here.

I don't know if the schedules are that much different.

We have the exact same schedules except for the fact:

Saints play Rams and Redskins
Panthers play Eagles and 49ers.

Obviously I would say the Eagles are a little better than the Rams and the Redskins are obviously better than the 49ers.

I know we're trying to rationalize this game but it's important. It's on the road against a good team. 5-3 is hard to get to and we should know that given the past 3 seasons.

We have to stop their run consistently and only allow a scramble here and there against Tyrod. He's a decent passer but he takes risks which we can capitalize on. If we don't turn it over I believe we can win by 10-14. But if we do turn it over it's going to be a nail biter. I'd also feel a lot better if we got at least Warford back considering we will likely be without Armstead.

We win this one and I think we take care of business against the Skins. I'll save the Rams for another time but I feel like if we win these next two we're destined to win the division.

Panthers already played the eagles. They are right behind us but with a much easier remaining schedule

This is the type of thing that would make me nervous as hell in years past. This year not as much. We can pound the rock probably the best this team ever has under Payton. Even 2009 when we could run decently our ground game wasn't as good as it now.

They're a much better team at home than on the road.

If we get out to a lead they aren't really the type of team who can mount a successful comeback IMO.

Need to start fast.

It helps that we've been a very good running team so far this year. That'll be huge for a game like this.

Just need to not turnover the ball: Ingram Kamara and brees.

Hopefully armstead and vaccaro are full go, if not we might be in trouble

He’s a mediocre passer that takes almost no risks. Hence the lack of turnovers. If you can stop McCoy, and keep Tyrod in the pocket - that offense will be held to under 250 yards.

This year was the first time on TTs 3 years that he’s come back from a 4 point deficit (at any point in a game).

It’s another situation where the moreyiu put on TT to beat you the better your odds.

I watched the Bills Falcons game. The Bills looked solid to me. I also watched them play the Jets and they didn't look as good. I think this will be one of our tougher games left on the schedule.

4-0 at home yes, but.....

Jets 21-12 Bills 2 TOs Jets 1
Jets 24th total offense 26th total defense

Denver 26-16. Bills 2 TOs Denver 0
Denver 20th total offense 2nd total defense

Tampa 30-27 Bills 4 TOs Bucs 1
Tampa 13th total offense 30 total defense

Oakland 34-14 Bills 6 TOs Raiders 0
Oakland 21st total offense 28th total defense

14 to 2 turnover margin +12 in those 4 win.

Their only road win Atlanta 23-17 they had were 5 to 1 TO margin.

19 to 3 turnover margin +16 in those wins.

Their 3 losses 1 and 6 turnover margin -5

They'll need a +3 turnover margin to beat the Saints.

Don't turn it over, and don't let Shady average 5+ ypc and you beat the Bills its that simple.

That's why what our OLine looks like this week is the most important factor. If we can be at full strength with Armstead and Warford back, I think we will cruise despite the weather conditions. We could control the ball and take away the passing game from Tyrod, get some sacks against a sub par oline, I don't see us losing.

That being said if we had to drop one of the next 3, beating Washington at Home is much more important than the Bills, and the Rams game should have some major playoff seeding implications.

Playing and winning in Buffalo isn't easy vs this 2017 team.
They haven't lost at home and have one of the best RBs in the NFL to go along with one of the more efficient QBs in the league.
