I love Leonard Fournette, but if we draft this dude in the 1st round, I'll be furious. Sure, the stable of Ingram and Fournette would be tons of fun in Madden but our OL is just not doing the job right now. On top of that, we need another TE, a QB, LB and CB.

If we had a top 5 defense and our O-Line was set, everyone would want him here.

If this was the case we wouldn't be drafting in the top ten either.

I say draft Fournette if given the opportunity. He will be the face of the franchise for years to come!

We can draft other pieces in time to fill holes along our line.

Good chance. LF is certainly more versatile and fits the modern game better.

3 games into his Junior season, he has 34 fewer carries than Ingram had in his college career

Yeah he looks great against shitty defenses. Against better competition he's looked more human. Which isn't a bad thing, just if you're wasting a pick in the top ten on a RB, he needs to be out of the this world. LF7 will likely have a long career if he gets drafted by a team with an OL. if he goes to a team with a line like the Seahawks, he better develop a mean streak because he's going to have to break tackles just to get to the LOS.

Saints dont run the ball much.

13 times last game. Payton is a great coach, but he's somehow retarded regarding the run game.

We would probably give fournette the ball 10 times a game. Why even draft him if we had the chance. Maybe if he can pass block we should get him.

yeah, I can't really figure that out but I guess we aren't as fortunate at TE this year... run blocking wise I mean.

you look back at one of the best years we had running wise and balance.. the Super Bowl year. Shockey was a good blocker.

in 2011 when the run game was good you had 2 backs (PT and Sproles) who could do it all and then you had Ingram as a rookie. Ivory played some too.. that's a beastly RB group right there.

I don't think the Saints would ever really have a big time bell cow runner even if they did run it more. The ball usually gets spread around too much for that I think.

I think another area where we've failed lately is getting a RB to fill that big void left by PT and Sproles... especially PT cause he got a lot more calls up the middle than Sproles did running. Both were great pass catchers out of the backfield of course too. PT was a little better at keeping defenses on its heels I think cause of his running ability inside.

he was the steady swiss army knife for the O for awhile there. Finished with 4.6 yards per carry as a Saint and went over 3700 yards rushing and 2600 yards receiving.

He will get stuck with the Browns if they somehow don't manage to fire their coach again and go searching for the umpteenth QB to turn around that franchise.

No, he's looked pretty amazing against every defense minus 1 game against the best front 7 in the history of college football. AP couldn't have done anything against that defense either.

You could make a highlight reel just off his runs against Florida the last 2 years.

If he goes to a team with no oline he won't be effective. Elliot was so highly rated in FF because he went to the cowgirls who built a line.

And this is true of basically every running back, including Peterson.

His offensive line was playing like shite this year, which is why he was averaging 1.6 ypc. 50 yards on 31 attempts

I think it depends on where the Saints are picking, how the draft shakes out, and (more importantly) the options available in free agency.

With Fournette being from the New Orleans area and seemingly having a good head on his shoulders, he would be the perfect face of the franchise in the next era. I hope it happens but wouldn't fault the Saints if they don't reach for him.
