Let’s say Brees is coming back for one more year and has made it clear that it’s SB or bust for him.

Who do you resign?

What positions do you target in the draft?

What FA signings do you go after?

In short: how do you fix this year’s weaknesses to ensure a deep playoff run?

Not sure I'd take Brees back, unless its at a $ figure which allows team to keep several other younger guys like Hill, Bell etc. Not saying its all Brees' fault, but you get the feeling that this is the best you are going to get with him. Great reg season stats, but playoffs are when he gets in a funk.

Not give Brees 25-30m dollars.

Secure a LG and WR2

If Teddy will stay for 20m you do it. Otherwise, ride with Cousin Tay Tay.

Attempt to upgrade at LG and WR through the draft.

Keep Brees at a reasonable price. Sign Bell, Onyemata and PJ Williams. Put a 2nd round tender on Hill and hope no one outbids us. If they do, 2nd round pick so we can get a really good guard or a LB. if not grab the guard at round 3.

Sign a FA LB to replace Klein.

Kamara is going to get paid and Vonn Bell deserves a new deal. Let Marcus Williams and Andrus Peat walk. They have to get better in the middle of the OL and find a true WR2. Lean on the run game more to keep Brees as fresh as possible at the end of the year.

Quick draft prospect question: where does Tua project, if he were to come out this year?

He's probably best served by sitting a year to rehab, right? Would a bad team risk taking him, with that prospect? Or would he slide some?

Would he slide low enough that a team like the Pats, or SAINTS, could have an honest chance to package a deal to move up, without gutting the team?

If that's an option, I'd be in. Give Brees another year or so, keep what you can in young talent (Thomas is a must), get Tua for the future and hope he recovers. If he does, you're set for another decade. If not, blow it up.

Would love to get a road-grader left guard, a smart, athletic linebacker, and a receiver with breakaway speed.

We can literally draft just about any position and feel justified. Besides punter, kicker, and starting center and right tackle...you can draft one of something else we already have pretty well established and not be wasting the pick.

LT: As much as I like Armstead, he's hard to rely on with his constant insjuries.

LG: Peat is totally upgradeable

RG: Odds are whomever can play LG may be cross trainable as a RG as Warford is pretty damn good.

TE: As well as Cook has played, we could use a more dynamic talent if we can find it.

WR: Speaks for itself. We need more from that position.

RB: I don't know what's wrong with Kamara. But he's not been the same since Ingram left. Whether that's because Ingram left or not, he's not playing with the same level of focus as he used to and is certainly not the player we all thought was of a level with Christian McCaffery. We look like fools for even making that comparison now.

On defense, we need more athleticism and speed. Teams were beating us to the edge quite frequently. Marcus Davenport and Anzalone will be back...but we know Anzalone has a chronic shoulder issue. And who knows how Davenport will be when he comes back.

Not to mention we sorely missed push up the middle without Rankins.

Our DBs could use a further shot in the arm as well. Jenkins could be a solid player with more time in the defense. Lattimore just can't seem to guard Thielen. And Marcus Williams should've been there over the top. Too many high lobbed passes are coming down at almost 90 degree angles for my liking. Means Williams is woefully late on his assignment. So he can be replaced. Maybe CJGJ can switch. Either way.

We can go a lot of different directions.

I could even see us taking a QB. But we gotta figure out if we're keeping all of our QBs or letting one go. And it's clearly Taysom ain't going anywhere.

LG, WR and LB all must be upgraded.

We need speed at LB for those outside runs. I like Malik Harrison from Ohio State in the third round. Can get a talented WR in the first. I really don’t know how we upgrade at guard. Peat has to be gone. But I don’t have much faith in Easton.

We also need Davenport to stay healthy. Going into his third year, he has to be a difference maker on D. Both in run and pass. That and a fast athletic LB are the only things keeping us from being a top 5 unit, which we will need if we realistically want to make a SB with Brees. We can prolly make do with Easton but definitely a WR and an athletic LB.

For every Brady and Brees, there’s now a Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. I like Josh Allen.

I’m not sure I draft a QB this class, though, because I think you’re at Burrow and maybe Tua, both of whom are high draft picks.

With the Bengals taking Burrow, I’d try to trade for Ryan Finley. He’s a guy I liked with Drew Lock. Then I’d wait a year. Shea Patterson is someone I’d maybe take a chance on in the late rounds. He had some Manziel in him at Ole Miss.

This draft is going to be deep at WR. You could take your pick with Ruggs, Smith, Jeudy. Saints are fine at WR though.

I’d try to find a Montez Sweat type guy, but last years draft class was really loaded at defensive line. Maybe Klavon Chaisson falls to the Saints. He’s playing for money now.

The Vikings just won in OT with Cousins as well. Lots of parity in the NFL.

I’d pretty much go best player available in the draft. Trade for a Ryan Finley. Let him sit for a year or so. See what you have while Brees is still around.

Trade Back with a team that wants to move up for Tua if the Patriots do not take him.

Certainly some big decisions need to be made regarding offensive personnel.

Ginn has to go, he's reached his expiration date. He was awesome in 2017 and had his moments in 2018 but it's time to move on.

Trequan Smith can stay but he's guaranteed nothing. He can compete for a spot. Need to invest heavily at WR

Find another receiving TE to pair with Jared Cook.

Offensive line should be addressed every offseason. Left guard might be the most glaring need and possibly a backup tackle.

I would trade Kamara while they still can. Can't pay everyone and good RBs can be found late in the draft.

Dennis Allen can stay or leave, I don't really care. The secondary might benefit from a new DB coach with a different perspective.

Not much is needed on defense except for maybe another LB, another pass rusher for depth, and more depth at CB.
