Well, we currently have Taysom and Carr and everything bad is still happening to us so....

How long do you really expect to keep a 35 year old utility player and a slightly above average QB that doesn't elevate our team?

Carr needs to be traded or cut due to the salary cap impact moving forward in rebuilding the Saints.

I read somewhere where Taysom earns about 10-11 million dollars per year.
If this is true ……
That’s a hell of alot money for someone NOT a FULLTIME Offensive
SKILL-PLAYER deemed a RB, WR, TE or QB.
Key is… I said FULLTIME player !!

Due to salary cap situation created by Loomis… here is another move we need to bite the bullet….I would move Taysom in some manner; preferably by trade to at least get a draft pick in return.

People need to realize the Saints need to address the salary and that means the Saints might not be very good for the next 1-2 years.

But…. We will clear the cap and get some very high draft picks to build for the future on next year or two.
Then we will be in better position to REALLY move forward.

Unless Loomis starting extending contracts all over again.

Taysom games are fun but 10 mil for it to happen twice a season is very steep.

I love Taysom.. it’s gonna be hard for me to see him go. I wish it didn’t have to be. He did so much for us last year as a blocker, runner, and pass catcher. He’s a great chess piece for teams not knowing where he’s gonna be when we break the huddle. I’ll miss him :(

Who knows if he will even return by October? That was a nasty injury for a mid 30s player. It would not surprise if he is done.

If hate to see Taysom leave, but if he did i wouldn't mind him getting a shot with a contender for a ring.

It’s madness. Taysom is great. He’s a good dude. But he’s off a major surgery at 35. It would be better for the team moving forward to just cut bait and develop some young guys.

It’s like there is a sizable contingent of fans who say we need to clear things up cap wise/revamp the team but them don’t want to actually do it or have the stomach for it. We don’t currently have a good roster, AND our cap sucks. It’s going to take a bit of pain as a fan, buckle up.

Taysom/Cam/Carr/Demario/Mathieu etc are not going to play meaningful football for this team. Whoever we can get rid of to get help needs to go.

Wasn’t it speculated that Taysoms contract was done in order to cut and sign him later for less money?

Since Taysom is probably a Broncos lock, is there anyway we could trade him there so we get some kind of return?

They know we need to cut him for cap purposes and they would be top of the list. Plus, he can’t pass a physical right now. Not sure they’d get much in return

Plus, unless they get really creative with his contract; moving him saves $300k against a cap they need to find $60M in just over 3 weeks
