If the game plan is to make Taysom a pocket passer, we should have started Jameis

3 drives and not one designed run. The play calling is absolutely senseless.

I agree with this

let's see how it plays out, though

Yeah its a hilarious suggestion that Taysom's running skills should be incorporated into the play calling.

....Taysome has thrown the ball very well so far.

probably because it's not in the best interest to purposely put Hill in situations that could get him injured now that we're down a quarterback.

This should be the thread topic. The playcalling has been killing great drives.

I do agree. If you’re not going to adapt your offense there is no point with going with Taysom. You totally take away what makes him a special player.

It makes no sense beyond arrogance.

If you're not going to play to his strengths for fear he's going to get hurt, don't play him.

That would be like arguing that Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson shouldn't run the ball.

Taysom should absolutely be running, whether designed or if he doesn't see what he likes in the pass.

You don't bypass a valuable skillset entirely because a guy could maybe get injured.

I believe we've had 4 3rd downs, with 3 quick screens. Taysom has been fine, but Payton is just being too conservative. To that regard, if he's not going to open it up for Taysom and let Taysom run, then yes we should have just gone with Jameis.

But yea, the issue is how Sean Payton is using Taysom right now, which is not at all to his strengths.

He led the offense down the field on two solid drives so far. It isn't his fault Sean keeps calling screen passes at the dumbest of times and Thomas forgets how to catch a pass wide open.

Amazing at how...in just one year...we go from years of hilariously making fun of Captain Interception to thinking of him as the savior. It's fricking hilarious.

3 points won’t cut it (of course). Time to put in Jameis.

Are either of them running a special QB-run based offense? I never said they shouldn't run him. Just that they shouldn't run him 20 times a game like some are suggesting.

The playcalling this year has been atrocious.

exactly. we are running a 41 year old Drew Brees dunk and donk offense with a lamar jackson type at QB.

I wanted Jameis to start but was excited when Taysom was announced. But this is just a joke of running this O with Taysom.

We need to bring in a QB.

Are those screens on 3rd and 13 going to magically start working with Jameis in?

Jameis would throw it down field. I don’t know if Taysom can.

Have you been watching the game at all? Hill has been passing downfield just fine.

Don’t be a dick. He’s thrown some good passes and that Thomas drop hurt.
