...the Saints should draft him. The return of Derek Carr and Mickey's unwillingness to ease off the gas for a season make a high draft pick next year unlikely. So we need to keep taking shots at QB. Howard has all the measurables and just won a natty (albeit surrounded by an all-star team). I don't think Dart or Ewers or, God help us, Milroe are significantly better prospects and will likely go sooner. Will Howard in the 4th is the sweet spot, then let him compete with Rattler.

I would take him in 3rd.

Our roster is so desperate, I'm reserving the first three rounds for (the closest thing to) guaranteed starters we can draft at any position. Can't take a flyer on a QB sooner, hit rate after the 1st round is so incredibly low for QBs compared to other positions.

We’ve got so many other needs. I just want us to take BPA at 111 and 130. Guys like Malachi Moore, Tory Horton, Jake Majors, Joshua Farmer, Ollie Gordon, Jonah Monheim, Carson Schwesinger or Savion Williams at positions of need that can contribute should be the priority.

These types of picks almost NEVER work out for the player becoming a starting qb though. Historically it’s like lighting a pick on fire.

I’d hope with our two 3rds we’d get guys who contribute and eventually start. Even if it was non premium positions like MLB and RB.

If the saints draft him in the 4th I’d just laugh at the incompetence

Rattler has more talent and upside than every QB in this draft not named Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward. No thanks.

Why do that when everyone seems to think Rattler is the next Mahomes.

I think it is more like why do that when everyone thinks Will Howard is the next Spencer Rattler.

This is the problem with the internet. Someone says,

quote:

Rattler has more talent and upside than every QB in this draft not named Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward.

And the response is…

quote:

everyone seems to think Rattler is the next Mahomes.

You can’t have a simple discussion without someone immediately going from 0 to 100.

LOL. Rattler has potential, sure, but he was run out of Oklahoma and lasted to the 5th round for reasons. Ohio State ponied up and PAID Will Howard to transfer in and lead them to a national championship. Howard is taller and more mobile. Rattler has a stronger arm - that's it. Both have accuracy and processing questions.

He may very well be the class sleeper.

He’s being criticized pretty badly for his performance at the combine.

He apparently shite the bed at the combine, so it doesn't bode well for him in general, so no.

You obviously don't pay any attention to this board.

Like I said...you must not pay attention to this board....posters say that IF Rattler had the, blocking, talent ect around him then he would be great........much like Carr was the first two games last season.

And when I brought this point up I immediately got the 'Tom Brady' comparison.
