If Meachem can't get on the field now and produce then something is wrong.

he will, don't do one of these "if so and so" threads, it's useless until the games have been played

I understand he was injured and I know that WRs don't usually come into their own until year three or four, but being a first round draft pick and not being on the active roster for your first year and not being activated for the first game of your second year is not good. Especially considering our other WRs are not studs or anything.

Thats why he hasnt been cut, HR would have a hissy fit and the ACLU and NAACP would be all over the saints for firing a "special" person.

Dont they have to have at least one special person on the team to meet a quota for diversity in the workplace?

One thing for sure now with Colston out is Meachump should be active for the first time and should see his first regular season action. If he is inactive this week, the coaching staff will be admitting that he is a bust.If he is active and plays,he better get his arse in gear, step up to the plate and start proving his worth.

Boy I sure am eating crow about Robert Meachem......................

It's funny how people take up for him and give excuses for him still.

BOTTOMLINE: he was a 1st round draft pick and through 17 games hasn't put on a uniform...

I just hope he is active to start and maybe pushes past Moore on the depth chart.....he is very dynamic and if he can produce worthy of his draft slot we will be fine.

one score after 17 inactive games for a first rounder doesn't deserve a ball licking, maybe a pat on the back

IMHO I think it is hurting Meachems confidence that the coaches don't show much confidence in him. That has to affect a player in some fashion. If your coaching staff has no faith in you, that has to make you a bit hesitant and uptight to the point it affects your play. I know he has it in him, but Payton and the coaches aren't helping his case much either.
