If we are knocked out of the playoffs no matter how early or late in the season…tank for the better draft capital. Why do the Saints not do this? This affects draft position in EVERY round not just the first round. What difference does it matter if u got 8-8 or 6-9…you still out the playoffs….the 6-9 team may be in position to draft the next all pro LT . This is just mind boggeling to me. And no dont give me the herm edwards u play to win the game crap. Maybe thats why he didnt last long in the NFL and was horrible at Arizona St. i loved his rant speech but in theory its stupid.

So what happens when the Jags play the Titans and the Raiders play the Saints this week?

Almost as stupid as you are. You’ll never be in position to own a professional team so we don’t have to worry about you sucking at that

You don't want your players to develop bad habits while tanking.
You should try to win so your players are getting reps against teams whose games still matter.
You might play backups to audition them or develop them as future starters. Otherwise you should try to win.

Those that own a team are winners. They never want to lose.
That's why they are billionaires and own franchises in life
Those that achieve NFL stardom are winners. They hate to lose no matter what. That's why they make the money they do.
It's in their DNA to try and win and not tank.
But you do you

Yeah i hear yall…just a fan down here. But really why not “play” ur backups and third string? All starters are done for the season. Dont want them injuring themselves for next season.

Guys get paid bonuses/incentives to hit stat thresholds, sometimes including wins and stuff. Good luck keeping your team invested when you are benching starters to draft their replacements and taking away their ability to earn the incentives in the contract you gave them.

This is false, plenty of owners are just in it to make money. Just like some players are only in it for the money.

Kendre Miller is playing for a spot on the team.
Jamal Williams is playing to audition for another team.
Spencer rattler is playing for a chance to be a starter in a few years.
Alontae Taylor is playing for a big payday.
Koolaid McKinstry is playing for a starting spot.
Etc.
Players have 0 incentive to suck.

Professional athletes ain’t built to just tank a season, too much pride

Gayle has done nothing to be a billionaire. She didn't earn it whatsoever. Benson was fooling around with her, while his wife was on her death bed. So in essence, the Saints are owned by a mistress who inherited her lover's fortune. Hands down, the worst owner in the NFL because she has zero business sense. Anyone recall that Mecom's paw gave him the money to start the Saints? How bad was he? No better than this clown right now.

She literally got the coach everyone hated fired this season. Anytime loomis wanted to restructure, she opened the check book. Hating her is weird to me

Weird? How so? Tell me what exactly what has she done since taking over? 4 straight years missing the playoffs. Entrusted a man who is an accountant to make football talent evaluations, and gives out bad contracts, which BTW, has buried the franchise into salary cap oblivion for the next few years. Oh, my bad, I also forgot, she has this same individual running the NBA team which she also owns. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what is the record again? They drafted some fat bum right? Shall I go on ?

I myself am extremely competitive. When someone or some team beats me, it only makes me want to win even more.
Now imagine you’re paying people millions to win a game. Most competitors want to prove they’re better than you think they are. It’s human nature.
The Saints roster is not great, but it’s not garbage either. But bc of injuries you have a bunch of guys (and coach) who are playing that normally wouldn’t be playing. As an owner how do you tell them to tank?
Our situation is a bit unique. They did give up against Greenbay though. Losing to Washington was the nail.

I'm sorry she did all this to you.
ETA... I prefer an owner to stay out of football decisions myself. Maybe she shoulda fired loomis, but as long as loomis is her guy, she should trust him imo.

The other 31 club owners would throw you out. If you cannot figure out why then you are not a knowledgeable owner.

Bet the under in a two game parlay.

She didn't do anything to me. However she HASN'T done anything to give me, and alot of fans the confidence to change the organization structure of the franchise moving forward. Firing a lame duck coach solved nothing. 3 things are going to happen in the off-season. #1. They'll hire some coach with no offensive background, which will bow down to the lousy front office, and the precarious positiontheyvare in. . #2. Loomis (because he isn't going anywhere) will hire some washed up has been, re-tread. (Carroll, Riviera type.) #3 Loomis is retained (1-9 odds this happens) because Gayle has no idea of the sense of urgency the franchise is in. All in all, it's the one , or one of the worst run organizations in program sports.
