Cam never asked management to sign Jameis. AFTER we signed Jameis, he would publicly support him because they were teammates, but he never asked management to sign Jameis like he’s doing now with Carr.

Which is why I would be fine with Cam going to chase a ring. He put in his time and more with the Saints, I wouldn't hold it against him.

Agreed. Sad that it feels like his career could end up going the Rickey Jackson route (not winning a super bowl until he leaves his main team).

Cam was very clearly in the Jameis camp when Jameis v. Taysom was all the rage. So yes, he pushed for Jameis as starting QB of the franchise.

As it stands it would need to be a post 6/01 trade, so maybe as we approach the trade deadline. Trading now only clears around $2M
But, because moving on from him now would only clear $2M, they will probably see that they can restructure/extend him and save $10M.

Pushing for Jameis over Taysom is not the same as pushing for the Saints to sign him as a FA. I think this is where the questions are coming from, when Jameis was a FA and first linked to the Saints was Cam pushing for him like he has with Brady, Rodgers, and I think he also wanted Watson

I never said he pushed to sign him as a FA. Just saying Cam doesn’t really know shite when it comes to QB so maybe his opinion on it shouldn’t really matter all that much.

I mean he knew Winston was better than Taysom
But seriously, even if you believe he was wrong for wanting Winston over Taysom doesn't mean he doesn't know shite. Even the experts at picking who the next great QB is, get shite wrong. It's how Mahomes falls to the 10th pick, how people felt Allen was a reach at 7. Countless top notch QBs falling out of the 1st, even more busts getting drafted in the top 5.

He knows more than you and the other armchair qbs. He plays the game. He has played against these qbs and watches tape on these qbs way more than you do lol. So to say he doesn't know shite about the position is dumb. When he walks into the room to watch film being a pass rushing DE you don't think he looks at tendencies, talent, decision making ability ect. That's his job. I'd trust his opinion over you and the rest of the armchair qbs every day of the week. You don't know shite about qbs.
