I was overly critical: reverse to Thomas on first drive was a good call

Except for the 1 Cardinal who sniffed it out and made the tackle for a loss of 9.

I was so pissed off at that since Drew was doing really well on his first drive back and we bring in Taysom for a Mickey Mouse call that derailed it all. But minus the one defender that blew it up, it was set up for a possible TD run.

The #Saints attempted reverse with Michael Thomas really wasn't a bad playcall. It "worked" against 10 #Cardinals players, except for 1. Might have been a TD.

He needs to buy that Hill/option is happening and bite down the line. Instead, he sticks to his containment. TFL

yeah the play development looked good from the uppers, beat that one defender and that's either a TD or a long arse run

seems like we make a block there and all is well. why didn't he block the only man to block?

I think he was on a release and counting on him to follow Taysom. Not sure if that would be his assignment or not.

Harris would of had some room to run too if the pitch would have went to him.

why would he follow taysom when he's clearly going to see an exchange of balls in front of him coming right back at him.

Like the tweet says, if he thinks it's an option, he'll stay close to the line and not be in position to make a play on Thomas. It's possible they didn't sell the option well enough or long enough for the defender to bite.

This is stupid. His job was to contain. IF everyone else on D weren't doing their jobs and focused on the reverse (not being fooled), receivers would be wide open down the field. To me, the Cardinals played sound D. It happens

Thomas isn't fast enough to work that play out, it's better with someone like Taysom

looks like Thomas had a chance to cut it inside behind peat's backside and maybe get by that defender rather than bouncing back right at the trajectory defender was moving to.

Peat shite the bed on that block, but he made up for it later in the game with some nasty deflooring blocks

CSP will probably be giving you a call to thank you. As we know, he knew exactly what you thought of the play call before and is very happy you have reversed your opinion.

It was and still is a terrible call. Gimmick plays are for struggling offenses. This one stopped a good drive and cost us points.
