The best thing that can happen for us is either:
1) he is awesome! we win games and aren’t picking top 5 anyway
2) he sucks! we keep losing, pick top 5, and now we know we can take a QB with that pick if we like one (let’s not make this a thread about it a QB is worth it for now)
Both of these options are fine. The REAL problem would be door #3:
3) he looks ok, but shows flashes. Not enough to know if he could be the guy. Nothing definitive. Wins a few games so we still pick in medium range (4-6) and probably couldn’t get the top QB anyway. Now the team has hard decisions to make

Thank You for your Truly Introspective, Deliberate and Meaningful comment…
(are you smart enough to know sarcasm when you see it ?).
Your comment has as much esteem as a moronic blurb from Tigerbait2008.
That’s the Pits my friend !!

I don't think it assures a top 2 pick since we still have yet to see an actual start for him. Give him 2-3 games and lets revisit.
The reason I am unsure is because there are a lot of really bad teams in the league, including the Saints. We are almost 1/2 way through the season, and there are still 9 teams with 2 or fewer wins. Of those 15 wins, it looks like about 1/2 of them were to 1 of those 9 teams. A lot of bad football being played right now.
Good news is the Saints get to play 3 of them, so they can either pad their wins
, or help their draft position.
I don't see #1 happening because of his history. Therefore, if they don't go QB and #2 happens, landing the top edge rusher with the top pick and a great LG with their 2nd rounder could go a long way to helping this team improving. Still have a lot of holes throughout the roster (as evident from one of your other posts). But you shore up both lines and you can mask some deficiencies while building the roster.

1) That Loomis finally trades back in the draft for extra draft picks.
2) The Saints Scouting Department finally learns their jobs.

As long as you lose #1 to tennesee its basically still #1.

How many quality opponents did Mahommy face?
Or Josh Allen?
Or Josh Allen?

I hope that hard decision is "Arvell Reese/ Jordyn Tyson, Come on down"!

I’ve got all this remaining season and next season to type Sheaux.

You are now comparing Sheaux to Maholmes and Josh Allen ???
You think Sheaux has that type
of potential ??

There are no Franchise QBs available in the 2026 NFL Draft.
People say this like it’s 100% fact and unless you can tell the future nobody has any idea.

I don’t think there is going to be much difference in picks 1-8 in this years draft in terms of value. So if we luck up and win a couple I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
