I honestly have to think if I care to follow the nfl anymore

For real, this movement has now taken our greatest player and torn him apart in hours. He’s done. His legacy is fricked. He’s probably got no shot at the HOF based on our current PC climate. Drew Brees is public enemy #1 of the sports world.
The fact the he’s possibly been run out of the league by his teammates and other players over his “insensitive” comments. I don’t know if I can continue to follow the league after that. Am i alone in feeling that way?
Been a saints fan all my life and I’ve never felt that way about it. But for a man that has literally Helped Rebuild a city from ash. He brought business here, gave us pride, donated millions of dollars, and his time to numerous causes to benefit all people. But now he’s a perpetrator of racism.
All the sports big wigs have shite on him. Lebron and literally every notable black nfl player.

If all he said was that we should not disrespect our flag, that is his opinion. There is no excuse for what is being hurled at him. It’s not like he murdered someone, but that’s how people are looking at him.

4 years ago I lost interest in it all as it was tainted by this nonsense. Politics took over something that was sacred and free from politics.
Now 4 years later (shocking!) it is happening again. This time will be even worse. I was just starting to gain enjoyment of the nfl again, but it’s obvious this year will be inundated with the kneelers.
Is kneeling disrespectful? Yes
Does it represent opposition of police brutality? No. The flag is not the police
Does it bother me if these players protest? Nope. Protest and kneel all you want
Does it bother me they use my time to kneel and protest by hijacking the nfl? Absolutely. This is the problem. I don’t want to see it when I’m tuning in to watch football.
You see we can be for protests but against protesting during games at the same time. That is my time that my money contributes to paying your outrageously high paychecks so that you can play football. It’s not for you to make political statements. That’s for your own time.
I have a feeling I’ll be stepping away from the nfl this year. This looks like it’s only going to get worse. It’ll be all Kaepernick all the time
