I considered the strategic advantage of starting Winston this week.

This may be a shootout game.

Taysom Hill in specialty packages with Winston executing a Brees ball control package with a couple deep shots sprinkled in.

The Falcons will game plan Taysom Hill.

CSP can be tricky.

Common sense should dictate playing Winston while still implementing Hill's designed run plays and/or RPO's.

CSP admitted to going ultra-conservative when news came out about Denver's QB situation

it's the 1 time "playing not to lose" actually worked

Saints didn't put up anything risky so as to not allow Denver any chance of something fluky

I'm on the train that you can't gauge Hill 1 bit by what happened in Denver yesterday

Buttttt the Falcons are total poo and let Hill do the following:

18/23, 233 yards
10 Rush, 49 yards, 2 TD

I'd probably ride with Hill against the Falcons. Anyone else, the former.

if Hill does something like this against the Falcons again... and the Saints win again... then all it will mean is we've beaten the Falcons twice, are 5-0 in the NFC South and 1 win away from another division title

Wouldnt shock me. And it has nothing to do with how hill performed last week. Recent history shows beating a decent team twice when the games are close together is really tough. Id imagine the falcons would come out with a better defensive gameplan for hill.

I would agree except in Payton's presser he seemed to defend Taysom, take the blame for not getting the plays in quick enough, and even went so far as to tell the media that Payton executed the game plan that was asked.

That even happens when Drew plays so that's all Payton.

Yeah he’s been very defensive of Taysom. And again, I don’t think it would be a performance decision. More a tactical decision since every game matters and the massive advantage the saints gain from the falcons preparing for the wrong guy.

Remember we were missing the left side of our O.L. and it showed with a lot of pressure in Hills face. I think he was a little rattled in the beginning. With the Falcons he had all day, and with that rocket arm just waited for someone to break open.
I would love to see Winston but I think Sean rides with Hill. If he looks like Yesterday and we get behind maybe we see Winston.

0% chance Winston starts

Now if Hill struggles, that’s a different story

This could be a tougher game than the last one. I expect Atlanta to play more one on one coverage than zone that they played in the first game. Make Taysom try to fit in the pass in a smaller area hoping to get turnovers.

Winston is being held from the team and is practicing off site to avoid the Denver situation. He’s in a bubble so he can go at any time no questions asked.

I am going to pick up Jameis in FF just in case CSP decides to pull Taysom at the last minute.
